Day 46, I did the 3/4 back view of the character turnaround and I made a quick character turnaround of
a blank character, I think I would befenit from doing this as a daily warmup

Probably my final day of redrawing pieces I made for art trades. If my headache recedes, (maybe even if it doens't tbh) imma try to get back to making panels for my comic.

Here I I redrew the OC I did for my first art trade with @delladz at the beginning of the year. Thanks again for the drawing of Jinwoo. I remember that this was your friend's OC, rather than yours, but I thought I ought to get you a better version of the picture now that my art has improved, so consider this me finally finishing my part of the art trade.

I've come a long way since April 4th 2024:

Day 47 already, I did the back view for the character turnaround today,
I will continue with a quick character / basic anatomy turnaround now
I will have some off days where I will just doodle in the tour bus or hotel soon,
but I drew every day since may 15 2015 (my birthday), next year it will be 10
years and I will look at some of the sketches that I did that year

I did this today for myself to figure out what the boxes represent when I draw with boxes.

The title of the picture is "I´m german and want everything to be super accurate" :stuck_out_tongue:

I drew an OC inspired by a general face design (eyes, nose, head shape, ears) of another artist's oc, to see how I would design a hairstyle to suit that face shape. Took me a while, and even inspired, I still kind of leaned into my style for the nose and eyes a bit, and added lips, since almost all my ocs are pocs. I like the character design gist, but wouldn't consider it a finished OC design, since it's not really totally my style.

thank you, i've been trying to shade more of my art lately, but unfortunately i find that after all my work it often doesn't show well when i switch devices tt

Yes, I didn´t skip one day, even when I got covid or when I was really hungover.
I always have drawing material with me when I travel

I made this on thursday

and these two on Friday, which was my day off

the pic of Alicia is a redraw of this pic i made earlier this year

I like the art style but i don't think it suits DITRD

I drew a lot yesterday lol. I realize that I usually only draw people facing to my left, their right, unless I'm working on panels for my comic, so I chose to draw Ayla facing her left to force myself out of my box

I´m back from the tour, I drew traditionally with a pen all the time when we were driving.
The last drive was 8 hours long, drawing is a great way to kill time.

The trick behind drawing every day is 1) have drawing material with you all the time, there
is always waiting time that you can either kill with your smart phone or with drawing 2) have
daily creative habits 3) don´t pressure yourself, just tell yourself that you only have to draw one
single line on a piece of paper, this counts as drawing too, once you drew that one line you
will automatically continue to doodle around

Here is day 48, I wasn´t sure what to draw so I drew the first frame of a walking circle in my style.
I have some super busy days in front of me but will have a lot of time to draw from october 8 on
to the end of october. The only thing I´ll have to do is to prepare the material for the next drawing
lessons for kids

ahh yeah, I currently can't afford a hard copy sketch book, so carrying around drawing material other than digital isn't doable rn, but it's definitely a good idea

Yesterday's art.

Two of my ocs cosplaying as other people's ocs, and my character Essence Walker. Pudding is dressed as 2dlenzy's oc Alec Tryon and Alicia is dressed as beebutterbee's character Chariot.

I always used clipboards that were given to me when I was doing stage building jobs
or which I bought for 1€ and copy paper or the back of letters.

Hard copy sketchbooks never worked for me

Day 49, it´s one of those days. I did the front view today and while doing it my brain told me
that it doesn´t look right and that I want to do something else, but that just comes from being
tired from the weekend and I´m practicing every night with different bands + have a 3 days
tour starting on thursday. I´m doing too much stuff

In the end it turned out good, I like it now and I will spend the rest of the day with fun drawing stuff
to relax before the next band practice

scrap paper sounds good, it's a resourceful way to do it, but how do you keep from losing it all?

drew two quick for fun sketches and a fully colored drawing of my girl Alicia for a DTIYS I'll be starting later this month

I throw it all away, it´s just mileage and trying out what looks good and what not or
collecting ideas. That´s part of my attitude about drawing every day, I want to get
a lot of mileage instead of making single pieces which look presentable.
It´s good for takign the pressure out of drawing.

Here is a picture which I took in the tour bus last weekend, I just doodle around
while the other guys check their phones and then I throw it away

ohh, I usually like keeping even my doodles to spawn ideas later but maybe i'm just a hoarder lol

One of the first things I did when I relearned drawing and when I learned how to sketch / construct in 2015
was drawing 155 animals with a step by step book. I just looked through it and remembered my thought
process behind doing that. I also have some old sketches when I first tried to construct the human body
with literally zero knowledge about the human body. I never thought one second about having a ribcage or a pelvis
in my own body  or anything like that. And the only muscles I kind of knew about or ever thought of
were the biceps, pecs and abs

Day 50, I accidentally did the 3/4 view to the left again

I call this finished and will do something else on day 51.
I have a small tour coming up so I will draw traditionally on the
road again and hotel room again. I´ll probably get back to day 51 next
week wednesday.

I´m really happy I started this, I feel like I imrpoved even though it
was just 50 days

it's cool to see how many different things you've been able to practice in such a relatively short amount of time

Probably inspired by that picture with all the faces you dropped the other day, I wasn't motivated to draw anything, so i went back and found a bunch of the art styles I've created over the years and drew my character Ayla in a bunch of those styles

The one in the bottom right corner looks too old to be her, but hey, maybe it's her when she's like 13

I forgot to upload this one the day i drew it which was like monday

I made this picture for a reference image of Alicia's complexion, hair tenure, eye color, and body type, hence why I didn't do anything complicated with the outfit that would hide her figure.

and this one i drew yesterday. I've been seriously burned out the last two days and my art is showing it. But I've still gotten myself to draw SOMETHING. Here was an attempt at Mandy. Despite my burnout the hair is a little better than my previous attempts

art from friday

I wanted to try doing a little painting-type digital piece of Alicia, since she IS a painter. I didn't try for accuracy but more a vibe with this style. I think I would use a style like this to illustrate children's books.

art from thursday

Yesterday was day 71: I made a painting of a statue and for some reason it looks like a bald Hannah Bahng

Day 51, I´m back from the last tour, I´m super exhausted from the
last drive (9 hours) and I didn´t sleep 3 nights in a row, so I didn´t know
what to draw so I tried to draw Homer Simpson which was surprisingly
difficult. I don´t have shows for 19 days now and I will also not drive at all
or even leave the house for 19 days now so I have plenty of time for drawing.
I will start to collect material for the next drawing kids for kids tomorrow

you're teaching a course on how to draw children?

I avoid drawing children, kids and babys

I teach kids (age 10 to 14) how to draw, we have different subjects,
the next cours is face drawing

oh, because you said drawing kids for kids, so i thought you meant teaching children to draw children.
