Some sketches form this week!!

Drawing my lizard girl character again! And her older sister too. I really like their goofy designs like it’s literally just a lizard face but it turns out adorkable for some reason?? Idk I like drawing these little guys, although technically they are very much based on salamanders and not lizards

The window is a preliminary sketch for a mural I’m painting on my bedroom wall!! I have it sketched out on the wall now, I just need to start painting!??! No, sorry the weird cat dog creature will not be on the mural I know, very disappointing indeed!

Lizard people but if they were axolotls, as suggested by my dad also this page has the worst spelling of kumquat featured on it but I left it because it was sort of a vibe

Tired.

This is probably her on her way to school after staying up all night watching kdramas. Featuring chili's shirt she stole and her earrings which are low-key emo witch coded. But she is also just kind of emo witch coded aesthetically as a whole

Lazy girls know the feeling of not combing your curly/wavy hair and just pulling it into a bun regardless lol.

I feel like doing this 30 essential expressions has helped me learn to draw Texas' face more consistently. I made her hairline a bit too high with the bangs tho

Especially in my style since it’s so flat. Our noses are also shaped very differently so there’s that. And faces obscured haha!

I mean this isn’t the first time I drew myself kissing this crusty old magician

@Leyelle I also love axolotls I think mine turned out a bit uncanny but is still like them, I think all my art has a bit of eeriness to it!

Me honestly right now, my depression has been really bad I actually don’t comb my hair when it’s dry or else it makes it look fried strangely??

Kissing is so hard to draw

@Lensing Ahh yeah I struggle with kiss poses too I’ve even tried to just trace a photo to see how the contours work and that didn’t help me either, usually I draw a kiss just before the moment it happens to deal with my inability to currently draw the pose correctly but, I think it works well in your style too @abigaillmartin !!

@abigaillmartin GOD that automation pic in particular is so horrifying to me for some reason hahaha it makes me laugh a little whenever I see it truly something fit for a horror movie, I feel like it should be breathing heavily from its unmoving mouth lmao??? The Houdini art you drew is so cute it’s such a sharp contrast scrolling to the end to see THAT lol

I feel you. Sometimes doing your hair just takes mental/emotional energy you don't have. And combing it dry is probably not the best idea anyway. it'll make it more easy to break. I have to build up the will power to do my hair before next Sunday tho.

Also i make a lot of eerie art too, so I get it XD, though I don't find the axolotls eerie

Q is a little creepy I guess you’re right, but when watching the silent films themselves I couldn’t take him seriously as a villain because he looked so goofy. 🤣

Houdini actually wanted to convince people it was an actual robot when it was really a guy in a suit.
I’m serious. He liked to exaggerate things to spice things up a bit.
He’s a showman. What you gonna do?

Funny, it´s exactly the same for me. I often trace poses that I don´t understand. It doesn´t work
for kissing.

Sometimes it helps me to look at how other artists solved that problem. Here is one kissing scene
which is drawn cartoony, exeggerated and looks super convincing to me. It´s spicy

I was testing my how to draw a superhero simplified muscle tutorial this
morning. I´m teaching kids how to draw comics and I developed very easy
step by step tutorials to follow. The hard part is to find a simplified anatomy
which works but is still possible to draw for kids who 10-14. Superhero drawings
are often anatomically wrong and very exeggerated which leaves some artistic
freedom
