Hey Danny,
I do a lot of environments, landscapes, rooms but I don´t do it all in programs.
I design simple rooms in an architecture program (sweet home 3d) to remember
where I put what in the room and to turn it around in different angles when I draw
the room in bird view or from a compicated angle. I can really recommend that program,
it´s free. I used to use Blender and Sketchup before which are great programs but the work
progress is too complicated and takes too much time for my needs, the programs are very
professional though.
I love backgrounds and I always start scenes with drawing the backgrounds, I think it´s important
for the perspective of the characters and to get a feel for the scene. When you have any questions
