A ComicFury Immigrant

Hello there! I started out my comic, Arkian, a few months ago, and I was originally hosting it on Tapastic, but I found it was getting drowned out, so I moved to ComicFury and got a massive response, real tightly woven community, and I began to think I should give Tapastic another go, and check out the forums, so here I am.

You don't say? Personally, I'm lost here, I honestly prefer the interface of ComicFury, I can't even figure out how to see who my subscribers are here! I find I spend most of my time searching for how to do something on Tapastic, and most buttons seem to just take you to back to your comic page. I also like how ComicFury gives you your own subdomain.

Yknow, I'll drive on with Tapastic and see if it's as good as you say it is, thank you for replying!
Hopefully, if nothing else, the community experience here will be good.

On comicfury? Funny thing, I've never met a furry on comicfury. I thought all the furries died out in like, 2007?

any site with a slightly unorthodox design will take some getting used to. but once you do, it's smooth sailing. there really isn't a lot of places where to go besides comics and author profiles on here hah.
your sub number is also on your profile, the left sidebar there. you can get to the sub list itself from there.

Hi @aran150 Your comic looks great, I'm going to keep an eye on this post as I feel like I'm having a similar experience, so it will be interesting to see how you get on. What I like about Comic Fury is it feels like you're given the basics but you're in the driving seat of your own success, giving you the shell to promote your comic in a variety of ways. However people more than likely bookmark your page so you never know how many people sub to it (but you can gauge how things are going by page views).

Without the ability to promote your comic other than through things like social media links, you can gain a readership on Tapastic and Webtoons by them promoting your comic, but given that this is an arbitrary decision it certainly takes you out of the driving seat and in to the benevolent hands of others.

Either way I wish you all the success for your comic, I love a good sci-fi

Welcome and hope you enjoy it here. I admit this site took a bit to get used to but within. A week or so everything is pretty easy to figure out. Ironically. I never actually liked comicfurry the layout and the page in general was really strange to me. I wasn't to big on the community I actually only read one comic on there, because I previously used to read it on another site.

But I do hope you enjoy it here everyone's very helpful and kind.

Oh, I hated the forum, there. If it hadn't been for that, it'd still be there. Tapastic doesn't offer individual, configurable sites for individual comics, but it's a larger community and you can get many more readers here.

The sites are honestly pretty different. I'd say CF's a bit more forgiving on messy update schedules, and such, and tends to be more personal with the smaller community, and the high amount of customization available. Tapastic does have a massive audience to reach, though, and it seems a lot better suited for gag comics, and the like. Good luck to you figuring the site out, it took me forever to get used to it as well, but you'll get it down eventually.

Just a tip, go to your forum preferences and put a link to your comic in the "about me" section. It's the closest thing Tap forums have to a signature, and is often the only easy way for people to find your comic through the forums.

and @epiale I agree with you there, it seems the site laps up a certain style of art, and subject matters of either gag or LGBT comics. Very different, but I guess it's about knowing your audience? Maybe? I'm just guessing

As it stands, I honestly prefer CF, but I think once I get comfy with how Tapastic works, I reckon I'll have some roots down in both places, and a chance to get involved with both communities. Granted, yes, CF is a lot smaller, that has both its merits and its disadvantages, and I reckon trying to succeed in either website is a totally different ballgame, but hey, should be fun figuring it out, right?
