A theory on Line Webtoon

I'm not really sure what to think of this experiment. At this point though I've pretty much dropped my bot theory (and my other suspicions of webtoons as a platform). I think the readers you're getting are genuine. I guess I just seriously underestimated how much the size of webtoons could influence someone's views and ratings.

For comparisons sake you may want to mirror the blank canvas comic on tapas. Not because I think there are bots here but because I'm genuinely curious about how readers here would react.

(By the way, I really like modern art and I think blank canvas paintings are really interesting, some of you probably could have guessed that about me though. I feel like a larger discussion about how the general webcomic community/readership thinks about that side of the art world would be worth having? This experiment seems like a good catalyst for that conversation to me. Maybe I'm just begging for a can of worms I dunno.)

Ask @Im_moron about the experiment details, he knows the works. The difference here is that we know who subscribes and who leaves, but the interesting thing is to know.....do real humans follow this stuff and the degree of irony around that following.

The average video ad costs the advertiser about $.30/engagement. So if you watch for more than :15 or click the ad, the advertiser pays YouTube $.30 and YouTube then gives a cut to that channel's owner.

As for Twitter they are finally turning a small profit. They finished 2017 with net income of $38.7M.

Even if YT made 15B in 2018, that doesn't tell us if it's profitable, but I'll grant you that my claim is based of an interview with the CEO from 2015, so you could be right that they are finally turning a profit, as is Twitter finally, and if they are then they turn out to be yet more example for @niah146 of tech companies that take this route of operating for many years at a loss before they finally turn a profit.

in terms of the experiment, its daily, and it be easy to schedule the episodes by reusing the same white canvas, as long as you write down the daily total results in some kind of graph, which is no biggy since Tapas already offers graphs

I can pretty safely say that everyone here at Tapastic is real. I know I have a high quality comic. 50 subs in 6 months. By comparison, I have 6000 on line webtoon.
