(Mark as tips and tricks? shrugs)
Yello! Ive decided to make a post where people can dump advice and methods they've used to get over art block, because let's be real.
Art block is a pain for some.
The dreaded great evil and inner evil of artists of art block can come in many different forums.
For comic artists, it might be feeling stuck in drawing boring stuff for a while, which eventually makes you feel like your work is for nothing putting you in an eternal loop of loathing which may or may not kill your comic career...
Or you might feel like someone's better than you... Or just... You're having a hard time drawing
This post is for you :U
Let's start with me (not because I'm a narcissist or anything :U)
In regards of feeling stuck in a comic where "I'll never reach that emotional smack" or something like that.
For example, there's a character you wanna draw, but you can't draw them till chapter 4 or something
Take a step back, and do a bit of what they call warm up doodles
Doodles that take far less effort than sketching, inking, coloring, shading, drawing background, animating and inking, coloring, and shading if your me.
Finding the tedious task daunting? Just doodle for a warm up. maybe something like 4-5 small rough sketches of that one character you like drawing, maybe to your protag or something, anything.
The purpose of a warm up doodle is to transition you into the daunting task of le inking if you feel like its a pain :u, might as well start off with something you're comfortable with to feel comfortable inking
Then once you get the momentum going, you can save the image (for shit posting) and go back to doodling the comic which is Gucci.
Thats all I got.... What does the tapas commudidy outta sei?
