I don't think I've had any of those good ideas recently
Years ago I thought about an enzymatic toothpaste that would degrade plaque and bacteria. Then I learned that it exists for pets. I use it regularly on my cat's teeth and they are shiny and beautiful, and you don't even have to rinse. It should exist for humans as well!
I also had the idea, early in my grad studies, of producing little mini versions of organs that could be used to compensate the function of organs that were failing, produced from induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from the own patient. That way you can still generate something useful despite the low efficiency of iPS cells. Of course, my lab from back then didn't have the funding and I didn't have the time for something like that. Technology is now kinda going that way now, with the discovery/development of tissue organoids.
