Ambient sound effects for comics

Has anyone else added ambient sounds to their comic? Not music, but mood sounds?
As an experiment I added SFX to the first 12 pages of my I, Mummy story, but I'm not sure if it works. Has anyone else tired something similar? Is it too distracting or more engaging?

I checked out your pages and yes the sounds works perfectly well
I think it is not distracting and goes very well with your comic pages

I intend to use sound on mine only on a specific scene, but I need to look up the copyright info on playing certain songs on this site. Even if my comic is a non-profit based comic.

The song I intend to use is by the Beetles, so I've been very cautious if I could use it or not. Either way, the song is connected to this part of the story and I'm sure it'll hurt people hard (in the feel sad way).

I think adding ambiance is a clever way to use the SoundCloud feature, honestly. It works really well with your pages. Just want to complement your neat looking retro style, too!

Thanks, @TheInfamousJoe. I'll leave the SFX in there for now. As you said, I may add more to specific scenes.

Music and copyright is a big mess to wade through. I once had to find music for a commercial project. Ugh!

If you can locate something under a CC license it makes things much easier. List of CC music. I doubt there's a legal way to freely use a Beatles song, they're stingy. Perhaps if it's a cover, but even then the arrangement and lyrics are still copyrighted.

Awww, thanks @Aywren! I spent hours last night converting the panels to mobile format. Some day I'd like to redraw those early panels, but then again don't we all? Glad you like it!

Guilty as charged! I know it's a trap, though. You start redrawing the old stuff and the comic never moves forward. It's just sooooo... hard.... not to.... XD
