How do you define the ability to read?
I don't see the necessity of this comment and it's just provoking. Clearly, you're an experienced writer who has done several collabs, so why don't you offer up your services or advice, instead, and contribute to the thread? I mean, if you can tell people that they don't have the ability to read, you must have the ability to read the original post, so you can empathize with OP, right?
Or are you gonna tell me that I can't read as well?
Bottom line: its clearly offensive and you spit on the faces of those who actually can't read. However, if you meant it lightheartedly, provide some context please.
@Jwebtoonsart I would agree with @candiedcotton. Offering "exposure" isn't a good option. But I really appreciate that you recognize and apologized for the comment. It shows a lot about your character, and I would want to work with someone like that.
So, for my advice: I do think that trying to find newer artists to work with is a great idea and can benefit both parties. Also, you already have a web comic out, which shows that you'll put in the work and help the artist. From what I can tell, it seems like you have a genuine desire to collab with someone, and that's great. We should all have that kind of passion.
So, I would reach out on social media or help people out by doing reviews on their work, since you have some expertise as a screenwriter along with a degree to back it up. This will help build your connections and show people more of what it's like to work with you. This is how I found my collab partner, actually, so it's definitely possible.
I really hope you do find someone to work with, and that your story will come to life. If I ever come across someone who fits the criteria, I'll refer them to you.
