Being a Muslim myself. I find it quite frustrating with how many christian believers are represented in this site. we should come together to combat this to show that we have a voice.

You even misspelt the Arabic words, if you want to say "death to the infidels" in Arabic, it should be written like this "الموت للكفار"

Eid is long over

there're 2 Eids in the Islamic calendar, the coming one is the most celebrated among Muslims

The tapastic christmas thing wasn't by tapastic per se (at least from what I've gathered) it was from creators asking other creators, a really big collab. If you'd like to start something like that, I'd love to join. I myself don't have time to plan it, but with some help sure ^^ I know 5 muslims on this site already, they all have comics, so maybe ask them too. It would be nice to see it happen :3

Also, it's is the 1st of Dhul Hijjah, so we have less than 10 days to plan. Instead of something of that caliber, where we collab comics, how about just cards like you said. Anyone who wants an Eid Card can post here that they'd like one. I can do that much, make a card for people who want it :3 I was planning on doing that for my friends already ^^

Hi! to be honest I just came to say something because i'm muslim as well (obviously) but even though eid is over I can't wait for next years! and yeah, it would be pretty cool if tapas did something for eid or all holidays for that matter. Yeah! We actually tried to keep last year's holiday collab labeled as Winterfest because we didn't want it to be a predominately christian event. In fact many that participated in the collab weren't christians either.

The winter holiday collab is completely run by creators and Tapastic has no part in it other than helping us promote our series and spread the cheer.

It'd be SO FANTASTIC to see more creators try this out for other holidays or just more collabs in general. The site is made better when more of us come together. And Michael is usually more than happy to help promote creators and series that try to do big things like collabs events.

I'm not muslim but I do love learning about other cultures.

This is actually lovely to know( because I don't know much about the culture and learning more is always fun) , Im Jewish but I have some Muslim friends and would love to just assault them with hand made cards to make them smile because after all the holidays are for smiles and hugs and everyone deserves a hug and a smile O///w///O

We did manage to have a pretty massive thread discussing what religions - or lack thereof - we were all part of about a year back. It had 100+ posts, and IIRC, not a single flame war or hate-post. We're pretty good at being nice. =)

I was actually part of the Tapastic Winter Fest collab last year! Here is my own entry, and here is a link to the first entry in the chain. It became a kind of 24-part relay between 24 different comics on the site. It took a LOT of organizing and hard work to get done, but it was a whole bunch of fun, and the readers enjoyed it as well.

2014's Xmas collab

For both collabs we really wanted to help promote each other while also spreading cheers. 2015 we went big with a comic jam that spanned across the website and we encouraged readers to visit each series as once a day a new episode would post on a new collab artist's series. It was only after the 25 days of Winterfest that it was opened to the whole community to join in on the collab. Then all the episodes and community pieces where collected into a series on the Tapastic staff's account after we asked for permission to do.

2014 was the first collab and we never planned or imagined it'd be as big as it was or that Tapastic would help promote it. It was just 8 friends wanting to do something special together for our readers and on a whim we asked Tapastic if they'd be so kind as help us promote it.

No one else has ever really tried for themselves to do the same. I'm dying to see more big fun events from creators. If you ever need advice or want to hear what we found to work and not work from our own experience, please feel free to message me. I'd be glad to help. ^_^

Wow I didnt know so many peeps were interested. I was thinking about making some Eid cards and sending it all over taps. We can even write some fun facts or spreading happiness hashtags. I would like to hear if any of you have cooler ideas please

Yeah we actually dont have that much time so we can make those cards then post them in our series and ask ppl to jst share it with their friends or family ^^ every creator can design a card to participate. I will make sure to link everyone who participated

I was thinking of making just one fact for every creator because 1) i dont want to pressure them and 2) I want you to get creative!
We need to illustrate them in a funny way and maybe sort of make fun of some stuff we do! We need to generalize so more people will feel included and not just left out.(people will not enjoy it if its too religious) We will also sort of make them numbered like the winterfest ex: I will make fact nom1 and link the comic tht will make fact nom 2.

So what about an Eid comic in general. Have them do facts, something funny, a memory, etc.
For people who don't normally celebrate, they can make a card to wish their muslim friends/readers a happy holiday.

I don't know if you recall, but for valentines, there were a few collaborators that got together and "passed the mic" around. They said a pun filled joke about valentine and handed the mic to the next creator.

What if we do that with this project? Say a fact/memory/something funny about Eid and then pass the mic to the next person. This way people can who don't celebrate can also wish people a happy Eid and say something about it if they want to.

But I loved the Winterfest comic jam thing, we should totally do something similar for next Ramadan. Maybe it can take place at a Souq, eh? Since it will take some planning perhaps we can do that on this thread.
