Yeah making facial gestures is a common one. I listen to TV while drawing my stuff xD
I draw angry, frown and bark at people who come too close...
I get super focused and start sweating. Not exactly a habit of my own, more like one of my body's.
The deeper concentration, the lower my eyebrows go. It's like
My boyfriend tells me I tend to blink a lot more when i'm 'in the zone'.
Umm....Alot to be honest....whenever i draw my comic pages....i started to feel energetic and start running around the living room while talking to myself.....Pretty weird right? And everytime i just did a comic....I felt like making a new one and now....just look at my series gallery.....It has too many comic series now....DAMMIT!Idk bro but i also make weird expressions sometimes and yes again talking to myself whenever i make a dialouge.......Sometimes i intended to move my hip to side to side on my chair while drawing.....my parents think my bladder is going to explode but no ofcourse not.
I think I clench my jaw when I write.
I also zone out. If I am into the story I am writing, I am visualizing it as I write. People could talk to me and I don't even hear them sometimes.
YES! I do the same face! This is like the best representation of the face I make, but honestly, I feel like a lot of artists that I see in concentration make this face haha.
Sometimes when I draw my head just tilts to the side, I am aware of it consciously but I don't exactly care unless I'm in public.
i grind my teeth or do improvisational beatboxing (if you can call it that??)
i do the latter while studying, too. makes for an awkward experience when you're my acquaintances or classmates at the university library.
When I get in the drawing zone I rub my tongue against the bottom of my top teeth... I only notice I'm doing it when it starts to hurt.
Noticing a lot of tongue/mouth focus here. I wonder why that is. Any ideas?
Beatboxing? that'll be interesting to hear xD
That's a good question! I read somewhere that biting your tongue reduces movement; therefore, brain could put more concentration into something else. Not sure how legit it is, but it wasn't that heavy of a research on my part xD
Sometimes I grab the table or the chair really hard.
I would guess as you get more and more concentrated, you need more and more "noise" of a certain type to keep you from going into a meltdown or something. Mouths are really sensitive and good at making background sensations for you to ignore (lol). Tension in your brain requires tension in your body unless you've figured out a better way to destress.
Omg I love that movie XDD you're awesome
When I start to draw I do this thing that creeps people out o-oI listen to murder documentaries XD I like to listen about murderers , how they commit crimes and all that while I'm drawing. I'm not a killer but I've always found it fascinating to see how damaged your mind can be if you're willing to kill someone for money or just because you suddenly lost control
Aside from imitating the facial expressions I'm drawing, when I'm listening to music while I draw I tend to sing and dance along with the beat (while sitting). I also talk to myself pointing out mistakes on my own work as I go along.
This is mostly when I do traditional drawing but I tend to rotate my led pencil/pen while I'm using it as I draw.
@Savannah I do that sometimes too and I'll catch myself doing it >_<
