WAHA, I ONLY SAW THIS NOW, SO SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY!
Yes, the fan-comic shall be based off the game's story, but not completely since there have been numerous copyright issues between the Voltage Inc and the game's contents. So I have to be careful in not spilling the beans as to how the routes end.
Girl, if you're hooked on those games, then I suggest you try Ninja Love by Solmare (thank God the walkthroughs are still available on YoutTube!) But for me Voltage Inc games top every over all the otome games out there, but in order to experience the awesomeness, you really do have to pay for it (either with your patience on the original version or time and patience for the Gree version)
To give you an idea as to how the story goes, I could give you a link that would lead to its word format in Wattpad.
And, since the princes are absolutely gorgeous and I cannot just simply put one girl amidst all that perfection, I decided to make one girl each to compliment the prince's personality and so that they may cancel each other out. The girls' names will be based off YouTubers who posted walkthroughs of their routes, so the comic's also a way of me saying thank you
The goal for this comic is to make sure of not repeating the same cliché situations found in most otome games and shoujo, and go for something new and somewhat realistic.
It'll have mystery (which is not found in the otome itself), romance of course, fluff and the undying theme of friendship. Glad to know that there's someone here who absolutely loves otome.
Speaking of which, feel free to add me over Skype (happehlappiah) so that we may fangirl and die together.
P.S. To answer your question about it being tragic or not, yes, I intend to play with people's feels.
