People would of course pay us for our services, and it might include things like print-on-demand, ebook work, etc., but we'd also make sure authors see most of the sales proceeds in whatever they do. But like we said, we'd make sure we try to help folks who come to us, any way we're able to.

This article refers to vanity press which is a complete joke. (We know, because we were scammed by one too)

We are not a vanity press outfit.
People pay us for book printing and marketing and what not, but those are simply because these are expenses we ourselves incur. We can't help people, pay to get them up and going, and get nothing in return. We wouldn't be in business long at all.

Do you know how you pay the publishers? You give them between 75 and 85% of your sales. THAT is where you end up paying them and it's a huge amount for some.

We strive not to do that. Authors make at least 75% of all sales back.

I am interested to work towards publishing especially since I have ideas piling up and I'm slowly bringing them to life in a story style. The one novel I'm working on here is only one of the many that I have planned out and written down. So publishing my pieces whether they are light novel format or short stories is a goal I have in the future.

I don't think what @WillowTree wants to say should have an effect on your decision. She is obviously suggesting the practices of "vanity press". We are not a vanity press, we are a legit publishing service, registered through the independent book publisher's association. We're just a small house right now, that's all. And our aim is to get you to a bigger house, if requested.
