I wait for buffers on both, but it changes. Comic episodes are rather short to have waited an entire week for them (nothing wrong with that. They are so much work!), and since they are so bite-sized, I'm likely to forget the events of what happened 4 episodes ago. Because often, 4 episodes ago is 1 month ago.
When it comes to novels, I will read weekly depending on the story. If it's easy to follow, then yes. If there's a dozen characters and a lot of stuff going on, I have to read it in large chunks, otherwise I won't digest any of it. And if I'm reading more than one story, I legit take notes. Lay it all out. List the characters, the beefs they have with each other, the small things I think might mean something. The notes refresh my memory quite a bit.
