I really love the way you draw wings, they always look amazing
Thank you Chita!
They are so tricky to draw sometimes - especially whacking them on the back of a person - which I am sure you know already. And I imagine bat type wings are even harder?
Finally someone who understands .Actually I find bat wings much easier! You can always see the bone structure to keep in mind and then you just add plain folds. My biggest issue with bird wings is figuring out the feathers' placement
Yes! Like which direction are they pointing in in certain poses. I have to look at a lot of bird reference pictures. Genii's wings are based on a Crane's wings - and they can do some weird stuff with their wings.
I've simplified them for my comic, but if I had the time I'd draw them more like these, with little imperfections and veins down the middle etc. Who has the time for that though.
EDIT: Angel statues are a good ref source too.
bad guy: exists.genii: falcon kick!
Okay well... usually when I sit down to do art, I stay there until it's done, so I don't have a lot of unfinished pieces.
HOWEVER.
I have tons of unfinished projects that were a little too ambitious. Like this series down below. It's from a story arc I'm hosting in an RP. My original thought was to draw every single character in the RP. And not just mine, of which I have probably close to 20, counting the main villains\heroes. No. I intended to also draw my fellow participants characters as well.
I even made a handy dandy background to place them on. And well...that was back in April. And I haven't gone back. XD
20! Yikes. It does look really cool though.
@Legendofgenii I should really start checking references more often, my laziness isn't gonna get me anywhere at this rate . Oh, I hadn't thought about statues, that's a good idea! :0 @nathanKmcwilliams They still look great!! (And now you'd probably had to fight the urge to draw the calico gang as well XD)
I really need to get around to finishing this...
I just gotta put the hours in.
Yes, statues and classic paintings sometimes too.
I struggle with winged people in clothes, and how the wings connect to the back - so capes and ponchos to the rescue.
No, I love it! Sometimes you can overwork things.
And that doesn't even count the side npcs I created for the worlds the player characters would visit xD but in my defense, I did start up a big collaboration project so...my free time went out the window
@Chita ( ą²„āæą²„ )don't tempt me. maybe I can sketch them at least
Yep! Capes and ponchos are a blessing, as well as open back clothes and laces
Saame, but some of them are too far gone so it stays in the forever unfinished group lul. It's amusing though and there's still an idea there that could be of use in the future
