Actually, I don't need to know whether it's incorrect/was incorrect to use it or not, and I do use they as pronoun (although I prefer if people choose what they want to address me, but that's another topic).
I was just interested in the theory; about the fact I never realised there are not a lot of gender/number ambiguous words in English.. well, there is the 'some' case, but it's a bit different. I suppose for gender, it's a lot due to the fact common nouns don't have gender.

English is a trainwreck of a language to be fair. I'm glad we don't have gendered nouns/verbs though, I feel like that would get super complicated.
My only other language is Japanese and it doesn't have that either. (Though, the honorifics are maybe comparable.)

Honorifics and which words you choose to use.
Boku and Watashi are both "I" or "Me" in a sentence structure, and while we're taught in 101 class that boku is rude and watashi is polite, watashi is also the female word. Which is why in Hana Kimi's first episode, when she's trying to pass off as a guy, she accidentally says watashi and has to run before the other girls catch her (she says 'watashi mo' meaning "me, too"). [Later in the live-action JP series, two of the guys are talking about how they know she's a girl and will not try to date/hit on her until she refers to herself as watashi once more.]
Japanese is weird, but I don't think it's as odd as Spain-Spanish.

Note: you can also tell how rude a guy is in an anime if he says: "ore mo" or "boku mo". Sometimes it's also a given of age. Younger kids will tend to say "ore", while teens who want to appear tough say "boku."

I don't believe Zaboem was trying to make a statement on whether or not a singular they/them should be used. They were just responding to my assertion that it's considered grammatically correct. Which I'm not entirely convinced it's not correct, but language being effective is more important to me anyway.

Lets not assume their position is against the use of the word, or against respecting pronouns, since that wasn't what was said!

Ordinarily I could have probably been a little gentler, but his response was completely unnecessary.

How does one scroll past several people explaining how and why they/them pronouns are used and still decide to assert that "well no actually, thats grammatically incorrect," when it's been thoroughly covered to the contrary?

We should all just start using Chinese, where the regular way of referring to someone is 他 . It’s gender neutral and if you’re speaking verbally there’s no way of telling the gender of the person being referred to unless clarified. It’s the reason my mom (and other people whose first language is mandarin) always accidentally screws up other peoples pronouns lol. So not having clear “he” and “she” words in traditional languages is pretty common and has been around for a while. Just wanted to bring in a new perspective I guess? Meh

And in Indonesia, we use DIA as he and she. So it's pretty much a gender neutral pronoun.

Other than my assertion it was officially correct, what was "thoroughly covered" was more about what was functional, which Zaboem didn't refute. Though given the meaning of the overall conversation, I'd say arguing over dictionaries is a little tactless. But I can also understand the urge to be correct. If the desire was only to make sure information shared was factual, and not refute the main point, functionality, I don't think it's that bad.

Which doesn't mean you have to agree with me, by any means. Just sharing my perspective, and how I read things. Especially since my words were what brought it up.

for what i understand, Chinese requires an exact pronunciation, so i would be scared of accidentally saying something weird or offensive for a mispronounced mistake XD

.I may use them for gender neutral people/stuff in online chats in english, but the plural words in my native language also have a version for masculine and feminine.

yeah, gendered verbs would be impractical. Maybe i don`t have problem with gendered nouns because we have them in my native language, but i can imagine how confusing can be for people not used to them.

Is tumblr an okay place for a portfolio or at least posting art in general? I'd use deviantart but i just can't adapt to the new eclipse ui like i want to and i find the customization options of tumblr to be kind of appealing though that's about it. (I'd get my own site but i haven't got that kind of money or the patience to try and figure out yet another site builder)

There may be naysayers thinking the site is dying and not worth it, but I still get notes on the things I post there?
But I think it's a good place to start a gallery for sure, since there are so many layouts to choose from, you can pick from a bunch that will work for how you want to display your art.

If you want a more professional portfolio site, I recommend artstation. Their layout is really nice and clean even as a default.
