Audiences Hate Bad Writing, Not Strong Women

I guess it's just a difference of how we watch the MCU in this case lol. I like continuity but not if it stifle what people can do with the individual story.
I just think that there's a population that are overly critical of these films (not for the reasons you listed) just because it's women-focused, when so many films out there are worse and doesn't get nearly as much flack.

That Superman show is weird where while it does a whole lot right, it does a whole lot wrong. I'm happy they got Superman, Lois (to a certain extent), and Jimmy right.... I'm not too crazy about the villains. Also I'm betting Snyder fans are the ones who're making those critiques about him being a "clumsy himbo with a lack of control over his powers". The dude saves cats, not knock down buildings.

@river121693 I get that, but at the same time if they wanted to go over the top and do the things they wanted, then why not go cosmic like Guardians? There's actually rules in the MCU set by Kevin Fegie where space is meant to be where you go wacko/insano mode. I would've totally loved an explanation as to how She-Hulk got her fourth-wall abilities to make it less jarring (Deadpool can get away with it because you can come up with the excuse that it's all in his head). Could you imagine She-Hulk and Daredevil flying in space to talk to One Above All? AKA God? And then She-Hulk has that moment you showed me from the comics? I already like the joke that She-Hulk is dating Daredevil... someone who constantly questions his faith only to be standing next to a woman who knows literally everything. Why not take it to the next level? If anything, I felt the writers held this series back and chose not to go above and beyond because ironically enough, they have so much petty anger in their bodies to go after the trolls instead.

As for the woman focused thing, I think that's a vocal minority with big mouths just clamoring against it. I did want to bring this video up because it discusses how studios artificially manufacture controversy regarding women and feminism.

Okay, enough about Brie Larson. She doesn't deserve the hate from the basement dwellers who hate her solely for her gender. Disneywood has made a standard of shoe-horning female characters into flat, one-dimensional molds and expect the general public to be "inspired" by them.

"Not Like Other Girls" messed me up when I was a kid.

It honestly did too because I grew up watching these and it lowered my self esteem and set too high expectations for me that was damaging. It honestly shaped me into the perfectionist I am which has had a negative impact on my mental health and life. At one point I thought being just a girl and liking girl things and wearing dresses and such was stupid. But I learned it’s okay to be a girl. It’s okay to be a girl and like things that are not traditionally for girls. I learned it’s okay to not be good at things because no one is perfect and no one is a Mary Sue.

Just write human beings for God’s sake. Cause this is what happens.

Just stop. You know damn well no one deserves rape threats. That's a straw man. But she came off as very arrogant and even her costars had a look "I'm done with her." Chris even threw her a easy softball "are you the new Tom Cruise" but instead of using the normal "yes, add" formula of interview style, she did the "I'm the new me." She just came of as unlikeable.

What bothers me about the trend of "strong female women" is demonizing "girly" things just to empower women. That's not being a strong woman. I personally don't see it as empowering to me.

So this one is an intresting consept because I do believe this added onto a lot of toxic feminitity for little girls back in the day. Mean Girls is def a real thing where there are women who hate other women for not being as ugly, but theres aslo a portion of girls who hate other girls for the simple fact they are pretty. If theres women talking about how its gross other women leave their house without wearing heels you can bet theres women talking about how this one chick is a dumb bimbo because she likes the color pink.

women hating women and women overcoming this issue is something that should be discussed in media (and to be fair it is but not in the main stream). But main stream media mostly just wants to put its head in the sand and just have movies about "girl power" and "the sister hood" because clearly only men will ever fuck you over.... clearly.

I believe this is the problem with most of these movies and why a lot of people veiw them as porrly writen. Its just due to the simple fact that theyre not REALLY saying anything. They might not be saying anything "bad" but theyre also not... really pussing any envelops? We see this kind of drop off when Disney bought out lucas films and marvel. Everyones favorite character was Black widow until disney got their hands on her and started regressing her as a character.

I think she-hulk is a really good example of this more lazy mentality of not really seeking out an audiance and just relying on the audiance you have without inovating anything. She-hulk simply failed in a lot of regards when it comes to building and keeping an audiance.
- it was not actually a court room drama like it advertised (even the writer said she had no idea how to writer court room dramas or how the law worked)
-It was not very good at 4th wall breaking, it was unfortunet it had to come out after deadpool because then MAYBE it would have been seen as "new" and inovative but really it was just... a worse deadpool
-and it was not "sex in the city" she-hulk. Im sorry but if 50 shades of grey 2 can do sex in the city better then you then... then i dont know what your doing- why are you doing this?

my point is were getting to a point where people are looking for things that are "new" or at least things that tickle their brain and make them think. you can like she-hulk but it didnt do anything NEW and no- im sorry- female superhero is not new. Stop it. Get help.

Barbie is sucseeding for a couple of reasons. one being that its trying new things by just making fun of everyone and being goofy. (and being the weirdest rorshack test ive ever seen) but also because its activly trying to build an audiance rather then just hope its old audiance still cares about it. which im sorry but as WEB COMIC ARTIST we of all people should undertsand the flow of time and understand that while we had "our biggest fan" in 2016- in 2026 they might have moved on to GARDENING and stopped reading your comic cause its just a more fun hobbie for them now.

You cant assume that just because your big means that your aduaince is gonna stay the same age, the same personality, and have the same intrest as if theyre in a time bubble. You always have to be trying to inovate and reach out to multiple groups of people and Marvel/disney (really hollywood in general) has not been doing this. Theyve been taking their audiance for granted and shoving out whatever script seems "deceent enough" and guess what? indie is becoming more and more and more avable as time goes on and people are going to other shows and movies.

I didn't start feeling "normal" until I realized that most adult women didn't wear make up or minimal make up (like me) and the fact I'm autistic. Before I realized that, it was so hard to be like other girls.

I sometimes look at Parody-like movie reviews and they bring up both: goofy complaints and actual wrongs in movies. Strong women characters have never been a issue or a subject of any joke, but I recognize a few of these people from the videos I've seen!

Yeah, bad writing: sucks! Take away the "strong woman" concept and the movies would STILL suck!! I feel bad for the actresses simply making a living and having to play in stuff like this

I think for me Poe was an interesting character, but the damage they did to him in The Last Jedi was irreversible.

Honestly I think that’s all he was in there for and not just Poe but Finn too. Finn had so much potential. At the moment I don’t wanna talk about Star Wars anymore.

The Last Jedi is often used by fanboys to rant about disliking "Female Leads" to the point that it should be a trope within itself. But honestly it is was the only film not directed by Abrams, so it is somewhat more competent. The Force Awakens felt more like a remake than it's own thing. And Rise of Skywalker is just garbage. Bad writing and toxic relationships (which is also incest). Force Awakens does has its flaws but it's better then Rise of Skywalker

This...but I still like Rey as a character. Should they ever go into anything to do with these characters in later projects, I just want them to DO FINN RIGHT...I'm curious to see what they are cooking since they've been rumored to have approached Daisy Ridley about reprising her role as Rey.

From the few eps I've seen of She Hulk, it's way better female rep than much of the MCU films

THIS. I liked She Hulk because the format was very akin to the comic...it didn't take itself [too] seriously and I was good with it.

Also while I liked Thor: Ragnarok because of its somewhat comedic approach, I kind of felt Love and Thunder went a little too far like that prankster who keeps cracking jokes despite the fact that everyone has said "Stop! That's enough! It's not that funny anymore,"

One of the things that made Luke a good hero was he got overly emotional, ran into a fight he wasn't ready for, and got his ass kicked. He learned from his mistake. "The greatest teacher, failure is."

Rey really needed a moment like this. Some kind of failure. A get knocked down and get back up moment. Imagine if Luke just won in Empire? Lame.

Again this circles back to "its empowering" when it really isn't.
