I do when I can. I'd love to read more. My family used to own Maya Anjelou and Nikki Giovanni books, and I'd love to read more of both of their work because they're in the sort of style I write my own poetry in, but sadly my mom got rid of both books.
I recently read a few poems I really liked on The Offing, Palette Poetry and Frontier poetry tho (assuming I get the names right) ones called "Glass for Breakfast" "When my father tells me to take my earring out" and "the black birthing room."
Mostly I read hard copy books, but there are no libraries I know of nearby where I live, sadly, and I've read most of what we own. A lot of classics like "The Secret Garden" and "Anne of Green Gables."
I love Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde. They're my faves in prose. I think I've read every one of Oscar Wilde's comedic plays and "Vera and the Nihilists" which would probably count as a tragedy. I've read a Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations, and David Copperfield from Dickens. I've read Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol too, but I know one, possibly both, were abridged.
Tysm, and I am. I admit some days I'm pretty frustrated by how little progress I feel like I've made, but I'm still grinding, and searching for as many new opportunities as I can all the time.
Ahh, okay then, makes sense. We could chat through the DMs on here then I guess? They're not ideal but they could work.
And yeah, my (ex)partner told me that social medias are a really good way to market your writing, so it might help you progress. But I get being busy with classes. I have so much work all the time tbh between school, chores and work
