It is certainly a challenge. I have lots of combat in my comic, so I feel like I'm getting better. I always try to visualize beforehand as much as possible and thumbnail the page out.

Thanks! I really try to sell the battle stuff with simple concepts like body-action dynamics(how the figure should look/flow when executing), the physics behind the action, and the catastrophic/destructive results.

Something I started trying to do in my later scenes is utilizing the environment too. I was reading one of Frank Miller's early runs on Daredevil, and there was a scene that stood out so much, in its simplicity, but the use of objects in the environment made all the difference in the visceral nature of the scene.
Unfortunately my best scenes are still to come, hidden away in my buffer xD

I've done a battle! I really had fun with it. Did some experimental panel transitions and things. I still really like this sequence of strips even though it was a year and a half ago

I'm just about to go into one and lots and lots of sketching and resketching is always involved. And lots of references. I like using 3d dolls for things like foreshortening, but also lots of watching animation/live action for the sense of movement but the camera work. Taking gifs of scenes I like and breaking them down to look at the camera work relative to everyone's positions and movements really helps me.

@dragonsparking Enviroment do highlight a battle greatly when used well. Some of my favorite battles are in shallow water with water adding even more sense of movement!! Looking foward to those battles then!

@rmdooley That looks cool and I ahould really try getting some body-kuns!!

@JeanGuillet I'll be checking it out then (on phone at the moment ) but using the panels transitions seems like a good idea for battles!!

@DiegoPalacios Yeah, that battle was bice! But we all know Rocky is just in higher plane of power than anyone else

@HGohwell That is me right now basicly Reading a lot of action mangas/comics and seeing battle scenes to see the fluid of motion, especially the starting, middle and ending action of punches and kicks!

@droidmonkey1 I am really liking the effect you using of having a line for only of where the person was as he move from it to the current position. Really good and is sometimes hard to pull off.

@skicoak I like the use of various angles. The peak da booz part got me xP
