Better Spam Protection

I love tapastic and spam isn't too common but at the same time, it needs more prevention. Tapastic doesn't protect much, when I joined, I could've easily spammed stuff anywhere, with nothing stopping me but of course I didn't. I could've easily just went
"Hey if you like __________ go to www.definitelynotavirussite.com to get _______" and before a flood of 200 bots do this, you should improve the spam protection. Some ideas of features to prevent this may include.

-First 10 comments are checked by staff and/or respected users.

-First 1-6 months of use can't make a post including www., .com, .biz etc.

-Better general captcha for the sign up by email.

If you have more possible ideas, please post below.

Also, http://tapastic.com/u0055ad4dc7f4433 <--- example spammer account. Also they did spam so ban them.

I think some of these rules here are a bit extensive. However, I agree that some preventative measures should be taken into account.

having to monitor the first 10 comments seems like excessive & unnecessary work, even if you relegated the duty to respected/trusted users.

and I know usage of filters is an easy fix for this, but I feel like the second rule is just kinda backwards on a forum primarily composed of creators who want to share their websites or social media accounts with other creators...

I'm pretty sure staff are already well aware they need to put in stronger preventative measures anyway, it just takes a bit of time to put those things into place. you should've been here a few months back, it was more spam topics than legitimate topics (jokingly, it seemed like a 6:1 ratio)

Well, you wont be able to put a stop to spammers, but you can manage them, though, I think its up to us and the 'flag' icon.

@papachan, I agree, these are just precaution ideas.

@heterodont I was just saying 10 because that's the general amounts things like forums and alike use as their spam precaution.

@RewindLabs I didn't realize there was flagging on the main tapastic site but then again, it's pretty obvious they'd have one, I just never noticed it cause I'm on mobile while my laptops under repair.
