I once read this book where the MC had this "gift" that only young children ten and under and adults over 60 would like her and enjoy her company. The only known exception were people like her sister, who knew her growing up. I thought it was a depressing "gift".
It grew on me a few chapters in. The MC was a nice person who took her gift as just another facet of her life and didn't stop living. She was a kindergarten teacher and her love interest was the father of one of her students. There was no insta-love. They both spent time getting to know each other and enjoying each other's company due to their interactions with her student. The love interest only overcomes her "gift" was when he realizes that her gift protected her from false friends and ANYONE who took the time to get to know her, loved her. It was inspiring.
