Buying a new tablet. Is it worth it to by a case for it?

So my tablet broke within 8 months and I am going to buy a new tablet. Would a protective case prolong the life of the tablet? The tablet is already 50 dollars and if I buy a case it will be an additonal 24 dollars or so.

Is it neccessary if I want to prolong the life of my tablet?

You could just find something which would work as a case for your tablet, or even make something out of old fabric (Like an old hoodie or something. A soft but thick fabric) if you have basic sewing skills or even just a hot glue gun. That would be free, or at least a lot cheaper!

Em, I suppose it is a portable display tablet and you dropped it? But I agree with @Iridescent_Bismuth, it may be cheaper to do it yourself (find some easy DIY tutorial, just a simple bag should do) or ask someone you know can sew you one, or buy a cheeper case from Aliexpress maybe.

RE: mostly depends on if you plan on traveling with it (or if there are factors in your home even that might cause it damage, such as a pet or child knocking it off of a table or shelf lol). Cases can certainly be nice to have either way, but I don't often find myself storing things in them around the house personally, unless I have a specific reason to.

I knitted my own for when my intuos goes in the backpack to take around and it works just fine, but I imagine an official case might have room for a pen or something. My pen travels in the tube they gave me and I quite like it.

If you're cheap, you can just pop it in a canvas bag if you want to protect it from scratches. If you're planning on throwing it around a bit, maybe splash out for two canvas bags, one inside the other!

I stick my tablet in a laptop case, and that works pretty good for travel. you can get em pretty cheap.

I'm always overly protective of my electronics, so I would say that it is worth the investment. If it is a relatively cheap investment, it could help to save you more money down the road if you would happen to drop your tablet. This is, of course, if you have enough disposable income to spend on a case. If not, there are the more DIY methods of protecting your tablet, like the others on this thread have suggested.

Ok how about a tablet stand? Does anyone here use one and does it help with drawing on the pc? Thanks for answering. I saw it on Amazon and wondered if It improves the drawing in software experience

Yeah for a cheaper one making a case yourself would be alright methinks. But if you spent a lot of money on it, definitely protect your investment. I got an iPad Pro and I don’t have a case yet which means I’m very nervous even carrying it around the house. I refuse to entertain the thought of taking it out of the house, too.

As for stands I mean.... if that’s how you draw, great, but you don’t need one to make better art yaknow? I draw with my iPad just sitting on my lap but.

Ok thanks for your response! Under warranty I was able to get a brand new tablet. My friend is going to give me a cover sleeve which I hope wil fit and protect my new tablet! Also I'm still thinking about buying a protective case for my light box cause Indon't want it to damage. I want a protective laptop messenger bag as well so I may fit all these items into the messenger bag with more protection.

Thanks everybody for your respense. I want my tablet and light box and laptop to last as long as possible. I will spend money to buy a case if that means they will live longer.
