So I'm looking to end the chapter I'm currently writing, since it's 3700 words. Most of my chapters up to this point are on the longer side (the most recent ones being 4~8k long, most averaging between 6~7k). Part of me wants to keep going and conclude this scene, but my GOTTA DROP THAT CLIFFHANGER instinct is kicking in.
The ending could be this section, which would lead to the cliffhanger.
My other idea is shift that scene (it's super short), down into the next chapter and instead have the chapter end at this section.
The first one ends on an upnote in energy, perfect for a cliff-hanger, while the second ends in a quiet moment. I can't really decide between the two. If the chapter was hitting closer to 7k, I would definitely slice it.
