finally someone said it jfc evangelion is not a mecha anime so don't watch it expecting it to be one.
I was so put off by it because I thought it was a mecha anime :'D Then my friend convinced me that it really wasn't and that it was soul crushing and then I just had to watch it. I want to rewatch it soon. It's so great.
