Character Comparisons?

Do you have a character that's constantly compared to another character from a popular movie/comic/series/ect or maybe to an actor or real life person? It doesn't even have to be because they look like them per say, some may compare a character to another based on their personality. ((If you don't have a comparison that happens regularly, you can also just bring up one that happened once or twice.))

Please note I didn't make this topic to fuel a lot of hatin'! Obviously, such comparisons can get on one's nerves, but this wasn't meant to be a super angry topic, just an observational/amusing one.

One I get constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, is that Daniel looks like Levi from Attack On Titan -

The resemblance certainly doesn't escape me. Kind of looks like if Daniel got hit with a "bishounen" stick.

No, I did not know about Levi when I designed Daniel. I had actors like Peter Lorre, Buster Keaton and Dwight Frye in mind when I designed him...at the time it was very original. XP But...stuff like that happens sometimes. Seriously though, I can't complain too much since all it's done is gotten me a few Attack On Titan fans reading my comic. XD

And luckily, I have also gotten a few comparisons to Buster Keaton, which is fine since that actually was a bit more intentional-

What about you guys? Any comparisons? And remember, be chill about this. =P

Oh wow yeah he DOES look like Levi.... cannot unsee.

The only comparison I've been told is to Rena Ryuugu once, thankfully it is only visually and not personality-wise.

Oh heck yeah.
Our main protagonist, Markesha/Kamikaze gets compared to Static Shock and Korra constantly.

is always compared to Korra.

Markesha in suit as Kamikaze...

and Static Shock.

My husband and I designed Markesha well before Korra ever came out, and while we knew of Static/Virgil it was buried in years and yeeears of past. He'd never even seen it outside of ads, and I watched it as a kid but had totally forgotten about it. By the time people started talking about Static we'd already had everything finished. Oh, well. I can't really complain with Static. He's a good guy!

Not constantly, but someone on Tvtropes though Microsoft was similar to America from Hetalia (mainly personality)

I... guess there are some similarities?

A friend also said he looked like a "stereotypical anime American" and... yeah, I kinda see what he means

I have people that say Thomas looks like sherlock...Though Thomas Character design was created wayyyy before Sherlock was even made. Haha.

A good friend of mine once told me that Toru looks like L from Death Note. They're both eerie pale skinned brunettes with scraggly hair and black undereyes, so it makes sense.

Lucy gets compared to Black Rock Shooter and Luka the vocaloid. Sometimes other characters as well. Idk I just find it rather annoying because there are so many characters that have the long centered bangs now. I've been a fan of that hairstyle for a while.

To me these comparisons just get annoying after a while.

My friends are really into game of thrones and when the viper appeared all they would tell me was how much my boy here Madu and him acted alike and had the same mannerisms :v they even both fight with a freaking pike for bugger sake.

I try to take comparisons in stride these days and never say much about it (especially since the person making the comparison probably doesn't know it's been made several times already), but it still gets on my nerves too, so don't feel bad. You're not alone. XP

I don't think the centered forehead bangs are enough to make those characters look alike, they're all different styles and different looks...but maybe that's just me. XD

I didn't think Daniel looked like Levi until you brought it up. I was like, what really, and then was like ahhh... ok. I haven't really gotten my characters compared, but then again my story is new. However, my friends that know my characters have not compared or been reminded of another character. I will keep it in mine once I put more of my story out there

I've had people say that Creep, and to a lesser extent his alter ego Riley, from my comic Creep look like Murdoc from the Gorillaz.

I think it's mainly because of the nose shape? But Jamie Hewlett's art was really influential on me when I was younger, so I'm not worried or surprised at all by the comparison

I've also heard Creep compared to Beetlejuice (from the animated series) but I think that's more of a personality thing than looks.

Now another one of my friends says my character in this particular panel looks like Bolin from The Legend of Korra

Okay, I may have learned to draw button noses by using Bolin as a model, but I swear that was the ONLY thing I meant to have as a similarity
