Clichés that You're Okay with?

like, call me a sucker for easy emotional manipulation, but that's just the purest cliche I can think of that demonstrates how strongly two characters care for each other.

I don't really mind any clichés if they are done correctly.
My absolutely favorite is the "Mano a Mano/One on One" cliché, when the hero and villain clash!~

It's not what kind of cliches it's too much used or where and why... It's all about HOW the cliches are used (like everything).
And most of the time, there is no fantasy... Just banality. Thats why it's called "cliche".

I like the cliche of the overpowered character when done right and not "this is my bestest character even stronger than goku and shadow the hedgehog and can fire nuclear lasers out of his eyes!"

It's not cliches in general that people dislike, it poorly executed cliches added for the sake of having a cliche instead of proper character/story development writing. Some cliches a lot more prominent in bad writing than others, making it eye rolling or something readers are tired of seeing when running unto bad examples of it constantly. While some cliches are just bad because it only exists because of bad writing, and yeah inevitably, some people are just tired or don't like certain ones.

The ones I like.

• That "They used a lot of power so they eat a lot" or the character just 'eats a LOT' Cliche.

• Big tough gangster like guy that has a soft spot for cute things. Like animals or designs.

• Bad guy goes to the good side.

• Kids around 15 years old driving killing machines like mecha.(But ONLY if it is addressed in the series by the other characters as a 'this is what this war is driving us to do, throw our children in war' thing instead of a normal thing)

I showed some stuff to a pro once, who complained I'd drawn a filing cabinet, but there was no coffee cup sitting on top of it. He said if there weren't enough visual cliches you're not doing it right! It's all those little cliches that set the scene, without really being noticed.

I like the "I am a real bad dude to my enemies but and angel to my friends" I just like the two face of characters like this and if they smile constantly with crazy extasis even more (of course if they do it right...)

TBH I'm kind of a sucker for the "cold person who's actually super sweet once you get to know them" cliche. ;w;

I ADORE the cliché of the heroes journey. It's one of my favourites because it is so inspiring. They are stories about learning and triumph over internal struggle which are constantly whispering "You can do this too! It's your turn!"

I will always love the "childhood friend becomes love interest" cliche. It's something I can relate to as a lot of people around me are experiencing it. It's just really cute idk

I like that one too actually, as well as the rival turns love interest. (Though I'm not a fan of romance, if I do like it as a subplot it's usually falling under one of those two categories)
