Hello everyone
sooo, finally here is the report ^^
First of, oh yes, the convention was very fun, although it didn't had that many attractions as the years before. No wonder though, as the big name companies didn't want to invest too much into this event and then it gets cancelled jet again...
There were many artists though, which was awesome!
I shared a table with my artist friend Lalingla. Here a picture, how it looked like ^^
Left you see her cards, posters and crafts. On the right side was my stuff featuring comics and novels.
First I wanted to make a sort of box for people to rumage the cards but I realised last minute, that this was a bad idea and people most likely didn't want to touch too many things. So I put the cards on a styropor plate, which turned out to be great. This way, people could see them from further away. I put them on, as I grabed them, so there was no intentional placing.
I did have to inform people alot though, that those cards are scanable and free to read webcomics. It seems most people, didn't know much about the concept of webcomics or were more interested in buying stuff. But this also resulted in some nice conversations, especially with another novelist, who might want to upload her work on tapas aswell
Although, not that many people scanned as I was hoping for, alot liked this idea and I think those who did, will be more invested in the stories anyway. From behind those plates I wasn't really able to see, which stories people prefered more. But I saw alot of smiling faces
Overall I think, this concept is better positioned in some sort of resting area, where people can relax in some confy chairs and read some stuff. This convention had this the previous years with some books, so I think this might be a project for the future. I'll try and figure something out with the organizer.
At the end of the event we had all our costs covered even with a bit extra ^^
I hope this was helping you. If you have any questions, I'll gladly answer them
