COMICS CHALLENGE October 2022 - Get Stuff Done!

Shaded this panel yesterday; it’s more menacing with the lighting! This is the base shading. This panel will have a purple lighting effect added to it when I export the episode for the finishing touches!

Day 9 of the Comics Challenge!

It's been really nice having people to chat about comics and motivate each other so far. Hoping this October continues to be productive and fun for all of us!

Finally completed the lineart for this spread. Next is more flatting and then shading.

Well, did an illustration yesterday and published today's update. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I’m pretty close to completion with this episode! Shaded 5 panels of it today, and caught up to the last vectored panel. Only the last section has panels that have been sketched but not vectored yet, and there are just a few more backgrounds that need to be rendered!

Day 10! Just barely managed to finish flatting this spread.

I need to increase my pace a bit though to finish chapter 1 by the end of this month.

Haven't drawn anything today yet, but I was able to finished the script for my halloween special this year!

I think I started to take more time to draw those strips, which is a terrible habit of mine, so I really need to try and cut it.

Yesterday I also started writing the script for episode 31 so part of the production process will be started for it before episode 30 will be published. I hope that’ll reduce the amount of time between episodes!

Since episode 31 will be an adaptation of scenes from the earlier comic version instead of being completely new, script writing will focus on just the new scenes, where to place them, and how to adapt existing dialogue!

Today I vectored two more panels and started a third. I took a short break to publish the story that went with one of my last drawings I made for Sketchtember last month.

Day 11! Inked all the backgrounds for the next two pages I'll be working on. These felt simpler than the last spread, so that was nice.

Published today's update, made a few Hexameron pages sketches and some thumbnails for it... which is not October specific, but still nice xD
Also tried spending less time on today's strip, I suppose it worked, but I still need to do better both quality-wise and timewise

Day 12! How's the challenge going so far for you guys?

Personally, I've noticed it's nice having more content to post to social media.

Yesterday I vectored one of the next panels which has 3 characters in it and rendered the background for that panel. I also looked back at an earlier part of the episode and missed the shading on a couple panels so I went back to shade those.

Today I shaded two more panels near the end of the episode. Just three more need to be vectored and shaded. I’ll also need to manually adjust the widths of the line art on each panel to give it some variation before I export the episode.

It's going well for me, and I like posting about my progress! I put together my notes about my progress onto a page I’ll also publish on my main site about the production process! When it’s ready, it’ll show a lot of the steps that I do. I wanted to write about that anyways, and this challenge was the perfect opportunity!

Yesterday and today I inked some lineart, as well as colored some flats. Thought this panel turned out cute.

Well I sketched one strip I ended up not doing today, but I will have a sketch I won't need to do later x)
Was mostly lining Hexameron today and published today's strip a bit too late, but still!
Unfortunately, the comic doesn't do too well on my Insta, but I was also absent for a couple of months and never posted something like this, so it's okay, it's not like I expected good social media results from it (if I wanted that I would totally go for Fantober again xD).
I do enjoy checking up with you guys here, it's really encouraging!

Didn't have a good day at work so I was hoping getting some drawing done when I got home would make me feel better. Still feeling down, but I was able to get some thumbnails done for my Halloween special! Hoping to get started sketching this weekend.

I been watching this all month and like 1st of all Proud of Y'all for sticking to this and getting shiz done, even if it isn't as much as you want some days and even if you don't post every day, Y'all doing it and that's baller

So I been in this creative bubble lately and haven't even been sharing what I have been up to, but I wanna so I will.

I'm doing a collab with a friend about a merman and his fashion photographer boyfriend having a communication breakdown after she went hard on a prompt I laid out in book club. I fell in love with these two she described to me and had to draw their story out and then I was like, might as well try my hand at scroll format, so that's what I been up to this month.
