Wow! Thank you everyone for your answers, I had to get back to work after I posted because turns out doing two comics when you're only being paid for one is time consuming, who knew?
I'll try to answer everyone in one message to not spam this thread.
@wolflu66 thank you so much! That's very kind of you and I hope you earn the success you want. It looks like you're actually doing well numbers-wise as it's pretty similar to my comic, and your artstyle is pretty cool
I've subbed to your comic too and I'll finish reading the chapters you posted later, my head kind of hurts from too much screentime TT
@IndigoShirtProd Thanks! Idk it feels like I've not done a lot, but I guess it's because I've never had much engagement on other social media compared to tapas so it doesn't feel like a lot. The countdown's actually a good idea, hopefully it'll help people see it coming if there's more than one post too now that I think of it. Also yeah time flies huh.
@jwabeasley wow I didn't think anyone would remember the earlier run tbh, it feels like social media has such a short memory that anything I'd done with Petrichor would be internet dust by now. Thanks for the proposition! I'd never thought of posting the backlog of actual pages to any other social media because it's kind of... Klunky? Especially on places like insta where the page format really isn't adapted for the insta square, but you're right it could actually work well on Bluesky, so I think I'll try that too!
@kyupol I saw you subbed to Petrichor on my notifications, thank you! I do intend to keep going as if the hiatus wasn't as long as it was, and I've always kind of kept going behind the scenes, it's just I never had time to make the actual comic, I was on doing commissions and pitching to editors, and sending out portfolios. It got me a paid job making comics so it was worth it, but it took a while. I assume by the fact you're back to making comics now that you're also out of the financial struggle zone, so I hope things stay that way for you and you can keep making your story too!
And finally for this message @mikesakatamaki thank you!
that's a very sweet message and thank you for subscribing! I feel very grateful for understanding readers but I also know that patience is a virtue not granted to everyone, and I don't want to punish those blessed with it by testing theirs. I started with patreon because that's how I've always done it. I promised the patreons that they are paying to see the pages early, so I'm giving them what I promised, and it would feel dishonest if I didn't, but my intention has always been to make my comic available for as many people as possible, hence why my previous chapters are still on tapas despite also selling physical copies. I just hope the readers can forgive my lateness.
Thank you again to everyone
I'll try to use your advice and your kind words give me a bit more hope that I haven't messed up.
