lmao my sub count is like London traffic, it literally never fucking moves didn't need a pandemic to affect that in the slightest
But yes, I've heard people report that they've had less traffic. Others report more.
Tbh you'd think that traffic would go up seeing as how a lot of people are currently quarantined and that involves a lot of time being cooped up at home.
But I think it depends on who you ask.
If you're working from home, you might be spending less time reading comics because you're working, or, like @joannekwan just mentioned, you have a roommate or spouse working from home and its keeping you from doing what you'd normally be doing. Being put into mandatory quarantine can throw a lot of people's routines out of whack.
If you're in a relatively high risk area (such as Italy atm) the last thing on your mind right now may be reading webcomics. Though they're a nice escape from reality, it can be hard to fully enjoy them/engage with them when you're living with your immunocompromised S.O. or you're doing everything in your power to keep your grandparents from getting sick.
But on the other end of things, you might be spending more time just doing whatever from home. All I've been doing for the last 2 weeks is work on Time Gate and play Animal Crossing. Though on the flipside, I'm spending so much time drawing and playing Animal Crossing that I'm not making time for reading lolol I check my priority comics in my reading list ("priority" comics as in I'm literally screaming and waiting for the next update LOL Right now A BETTER PLACE is my top contender for that because we're so close to the end I can taste it but more shit just keeps happening lol) as well as the independent websites that I know update on specific days (right now the only comics I frequent on their own websites are Awkward Zombie, which updates every Monday, and A Tale of Two Lovers, this beautiful Legend of Zelda fancomic with amazing art and hilarious storytelling lol it updates a little more sporadically, but I also support them on Patreon so I get notifications when they update )
Subcount aside, I've definitely noticed less comment engagement from my readers as of late? And by 'readers' I mean like, the two people who are left who actually comment semi-regularly (at least every other episode at the very least) I've updated like four new episodes since the last time they've engaged in the comment section and it couldn't come at a worse time, we're in the middle of a really awesome story arc right now that I'm super proud of and excited to publish
But I've been taking part in the forums a lot more. Too much, in fact. I expect everyone to be sick of me by the start of next week LOL
