Critique my Patreon? I really want to make it better!

So I launched a Patreon for my comic (Midwinter) last week and I'd like to get some feedback to improve it.

I did a fair amount of research and looked at what successful Patreons
were doing, but I'm always open to improvement. What's done well? Not so
well? Did anything turn you off? Is it missing something? What do you
think about the rewards and incentives? Does anything confuse you, or is
there something you'd like to know more about?

If you were hypothetically looking to pledge, what would stop you?

Anything is fair game, really, except for the video. So please let me
know what you think, and be honest! I want to polish it the best I can
because I really care about getting to a point where I can do this full
time.

Noooope. Nope. Don't see any issues here. It's quick to the point, the layout is balanced and charming with the headers. The video was fascinating and done in a professional manner that doesn't go on and on. The rewards and milestone goals are quite fair given the undertaking.

The only thing stopping myself is that I am not interested in this particular series. Mind you that has zero and I mean zero point to do with your style, agenda or quality of your work because honestly it's quite captivating really! In my eyes I feel you have created an excellent Patreon page and I wish you the best on your funding goals!

Well thank you! I really appreciate that whether you're interested or not. c: The biggest thing I was unsure of is my description--like if I should repeat what the story is about even though the video is above, or if I was talking too much about myself, etc.

Some pages also include a "How Patreon works" section, but I didn't include it because Patreon has gained more traction as a website lately. (At least, in the art field. I'm actually not sure how well known it is generally.)

I added the "how patreon works" section because most of the people I talk with about Patreon don't understand it, so it's still a good thing to have an explanation, just in case!

It's my pleasure and I really hope you gain some great grounds with your project! Well I myself am rather straightforward so I enjoy well bonded together presentations. Your video covered your bases in a thematic and intriguing way concerning the story. Some people do not enjoy sitting through a video, wanting to read instead, so I would certainly not withhold a description, however that is more an icing on the cake as it were than lack there of.

I believe it is important for a supporter let alone a community to be more aware of those that they are helping fund. Being personable is not exactly a common trait when so many are trying to present themselves as a solid face of professionalism. ( Beep boop robots ) It can help all of us better understand you and feel more inclined. It matters a lot however and I for one did not find yourself going excessive with the mentioning.

Maybe it's just myself, maybe I'm the minority here; Patreon in itself is rather a simple platform and easy to understand even without reading the rules and guidelines as a supporter. Devoting a good source of space to explain how it works might be excessive and only contribute to more effort from the interested party examining the page but again, I may be part of a minority, I do not have numbers nor statistics on the trafficking of new users and what makes the selling difference in a supporter regarding such things.

@getsuart Thanks! And that's true, I've had to explain it to some people. Maybe what I'll do is try to find a way to explain it that's really compact and succinct to avoid confusion and clogging up the page...

@callmeshane Thank you! I'm really glad the video makes sense. It's always hard to know how to introduce new concepts to people in an engaging way, so if it's successful I'm happy. I think I might try to add a short summary to the beginning, then. 2-3 sentences tops if I can help it.

That's fair! And I agree it's a good idea to be personable and seen as an individual... I guess like most things it just comes down to having a balance. I've seen so many projects flounder because the creator goes on about themselves, their passion, and how the project came to be... not the project itself. That's always been a big turn off to me, lol. At least I came off reasonable though!
