Never tried, but it's done with firefox, right? We can use canva to make custom banners, then. c:

The fact that I normally put the links in the episode description is because sometimes I exceed the 15000 letters in chapter having to trim some text. And that way I can't add the links inside the body of the text. How banners count? Also would that kind of visual advertising not be considered as a rule breaker? We need to be sure about that. To be honest if people who self promotes also subbed in return everyone would unlock the milestones. I see a lot of self promoting in threads here. But people forget to add your stories back...That is too selfish for my taste...Even those that self promotes in every single thread possible do that. This is not nice and do not help novel community to have the atention we deserve, since we have less activity than comics. Much less activity...

That is not the point. I think that if you ask for subbers you have to be ready to help those that subbed to you. If you do not ask for them it is ok.But if you fill lots of threads asking for subbers and you do not sub in return that is my definition of being selfish. And it not only is bad for the one not subbed but to the entire community since we have less activity.

I get that, but if people only subbed to those they subbed to without actually engaging with it, they may as well not be subbed imo
and this is a cross promotion thread for a reason. The one I was in (https://forums.tapas.io/t/novel-cross-promotion-thread/23061) had a decent system similar to this one. They each had different ways of promoting, from banners to excerpts.

Did you mean that we should remove those that acted like that? Would that be mean to them and impact their activity in a bad way? I can't do that to them...even if they deserve it. I think that would also impact bad to everyone...

I'm not sure I get what you mean. Are you suggesting writers sub to every work they promote? That's why I said I'd only promote books I'm genuinely interested in or have similar genre/themes. But if that's not what you meant, could you elaborate?

Correct me if I am wrong, since I am new to Tapas, yes I think this is a place ruled by numbers so far, I m not sure it is the most effective or a fair way of working, but I do think that the reason why we do not have much space in the Apps for example or pickings is because Novels, so far, do not have an active daily number of views, shares, subs etc...that great for them. So every single sub count for the Novel aspect of Tapas, every link every activity and if that increases a lot well we get to be more noticed as a profitable thing for the owners of the site.

And second:
There would be two aspects of what I said:

1- If you asked for sub and someone did it for you it is nice that you do the same and that is only to support who supported you.
2- If you do not do this, do not post in every thread asking for sub then you decide if you want to support those that supported you, though I would since that is how I am...

And the final aspect:
I think remove someone from the library only because they did not sub you in return will impact the first thing I described. Also for me it is not nice since it will definitely bring some bothering to the one that lost a subber.

That's not what I meant by "engagement"... I meant as in comments, likes or even reads. I don't see the point of subbing to something I'm not interested in. But that's just me, if that works for you, by all means, go for it.

However, (tagging @Charli.Snow in case I'm wrong) this thread doesn't seem to be for sub for sub. It seems like it's for promotion, as in promoting each others' work for your book's subscribers to see and possibly pick up.

Well It is just me, I do like to have those that supported me to know that I am willing to do the same for them. For me is the nice thing to do...but it is my humble two cents in the matter.
