6 Do you think misunderstandings in your romances are realistic or cliche?
So I think there definitely has to be a way of doing it right, but to a certain extent, I find it realistic to have some level of misunderstandings that will probably cause difficulty, because when people don't explain themselves, or can't explain themselves clearly, it's easy for people to misinterpret other people's actions. I've never done this as "oh no, I overheard his phone call with a platonic friend and now I think he's cheating on me."
More like, "he sent me home when I fell asleep on his couch." and she doesn't completely understand the reason why he did it, though he obviously knows why.
“Gosh! Have you been reading crime novels lately? Why am I suddenly on trial for something that happened half a year ago? I didn’t want to get rid of you, okay? I just thought it would have been better for you to be safe at home in your own bed before it got too late.”
“Rather than sleeping on the couch, I mean. It’s not really the most comfortable way to sleep.”
