I normally finish the book before posting it, so I like working on it every day instead. I don't break it into Tapas episodes until I start posting, because shaping up the beginning and ending of each episode is part of my editing. I aim for a hook in the beginning of each episode as if it were a chapter one to grab an accidental reader and end each chapter with a teaser for the next one so they don't unsub.
But, yeah, I write every day (or nearly) and count words, because if my writing becomes popular, I want to be ready for that and race out of the gates with it. I've seen people fail after they've hit success because they wrote a great start, attracted a lot of attention, even got publishing deals, then can't move past chapter 10 or one book or whatever.
If I get my wish and win the hearts of the audience, I want to be all set to keep growing.
Obviously, even if one book catches on, it doesn't mean that the next one will, but at least I will know that I didn't squander the hard-earned success away, that I worked hard, and it's just the vagaries of fate, not something I did wrong.
I want to remove every obstacle I can remove on my road to success.
My body is ready, I just need The Book!
