Ahh yeah, having things to go back and forth between helps you stay productive when one burns you out.

And I hope my plan works out. We'll see. I'm trying. I'm considering doing one of my sci-fi type stories next, but I want to let my Patrons take a vote.

My main source for finding competitions is this lady's blog called "Curiosity Never Killed The Writer." she shares open calls for submissions and competitions for the upcoming month at the end of every month. If you're looking to submit to competitions and open calls I suggest starting there. but my number one tip is to never pay for submission fees.

there are a lot of companies that will do free submissions, free submissions up to a certain threshold, or free subs for people of specific demographics. look for those and never pay. writing is subjective, so no matter how good you are you could waste a ton of money

That does make a lot of sense. Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely going to check it out

Also, screw it. more Belle. I love her. Also her husband. She's married to a goth magician.

His name is Malcom (performs under the name Rainey-Day)

what combination is she? i'm mixed African American and Dominican

I realize that the fact that I'm learning how to dress my chunky characters in fashionable ways that suit their body types often makes them look less chubby, but this hottie is a quite thick body type lol, it's the balance of her outfit that makes her look less so

She is African American and Puerto Rican! Unfortunately born in the suburbs so she has mental issues (totally not based on my experiences h a h a h a…)
I’m African American, Guatemalan, and Mexican!

Yikes. What mental issues from the suburbs? I'm mixed Hispanic and African American, Dominican on my dad's side, born and raised (until age 12) in the suburbs. Latin club! High five!

I hope you're doing better?

what combination is she? i'm mixed African American and Dominica, got the same idea with fansly too

LATIN CLUB!!!
Just the usual mixed issue, not enough of either race so excluded by all. I’m doing great now, moved to a more diverse area and used my past to write this story. Nothing wasted!! Very thankful to who I was able to grow into!

Definitely, nothing is ever wasted when you're an author, every experience can just become a story.
I was actually asking about the character, not trying to pry lol, but sharing is always cool. It's definitely a common struggle, I've written about it in degrees in several of my own stories and it's definitely part of my male lead's struggle.

HA SORRY- I’m used to over sharing my past since it is a large contributor of my story’s origins.
As for my mixed girl, Casey’s a mess and I’m going to be annoying and say you’ll have to tune in to see how much of a mess and why 🤫

DO NOT WORRY. I'm an oversharer too. I really love sharing with people and hearing their stories. I just try not to ask too many questions so people don't get uncomfy if they want to keep things private. Believe me, it's all good, honey.

gotta get the creator hustle on lol

I think I have a good handfull of dark skinned females in my stories. Here's one of my favorite designs though.

Leia from my story "Rigamarole" probably doesn't fit the beauty standard very closely. She's fair skinned with long hair, but she's not very curvy, nor does she take the time to do her makeup and since she's doesn't naturally have very full lips, thick eyelashes or anything like that, and she wears androgynous clothes, she could easily be considered to look kind of boyish (she does look a LOT like a slightly taller version of her little brother.) She also looks kind of tired all the time. The dark circles are real.

Oh, I drew Leia, but forgot to share the picture (rolls eyes)

It's hard to tell from this pic (I have to redraw her) but Leia is built pretty boxy and starting to edge into the larger side now. She also doesn't wear makeup very often, so since she doesn't naturally have super thick eyelashes or full lips, she strays a bit from the beauty standard in lots of little ways.
