My story may have LGBT characters, but it's not a romance. It's also not just a vehicle for my political opinions (something I've seen people assume about any superhero comics--I barely have touched on my political opinions in it).

This story is not about your regular "damsel in distress" trope, or even typical shoujo/shonen tropes where the deuteragonists find themselves to be in love. "Upbeatness", if there's any, is rare.

My story is not a typical fantasy story, it's not even just fantasy or any ... main genre. It doesn't feature a typical, highly fantasy-esque or stereotypically light and dark depiction of Heaven and Hell and doesn't closely follow the mythology, but doesn't ignore it either. It's not historically accurate but doesn't completely ignore history either. It's not historical fiction but doesn't take place completely separately from history and real events either. My description of it is not making sense.
It's not popular and most likely not appealing to the masses. But that's okay. And by that I mean that's not not okay. I can't not use a double negative for this prompt.

There ya go. I mean don't not go. No wait, that doesn't mean the same thing. I did not mean to be rude or tell you to leave.

My novel is not an Isekai, and it's not about knights in shining armor coming to save the day. It's got knights in it, but they're mostly terrible, and my story isn't one that favors the power structures at play.

Anyway, if you don't want a story that satirizes modern-day culture and makes fun of edgelords, and you'd much rather read something relentlessly straight and cisgendered, then you should probably read something else. Otherwise, check out The Aphuanian Tales.

Me too! Gets the gears grinding. I think it's funny because I thought I knew my story well, but doing prompts like these has really made me have to dig into it and learn more about it.

This story is not a relaxing interplanetary cruise where nothing ever happens. It is not a story where the actions of the villains are the banal, child-friendly evil of Saturday morning cartoons, nor is it a grim-dark wasteland of unrealistic hopelessness. It is not without humour, nor romance, nor tender moments. And while there's not much of it completed as yet, I hope what you can read so far does not disappoint.

On a serious note while ignoring that awful joke:

I wouldn't consider my story neither a romance nor a love story as the unreliable narrator makes it difficult to know for sure what's happening. That's why in the description I just say it's a short story about two lonely people.

This story is not your typical fantasy adventure tale where the male and female protagonists fall for each other. There are no characters who are outright overpowered, their strength and abilities were earned through training and hard work, their weakenesses are not overlooked.

Well the story is not about a mistery, also we know how the killer is, yes, there are good people, matter of fact, all are good people, in a lovely manor, in victorian London.

This story doesnt have a normal living sentient protagonist or a normal premise. Because of that, it's not your average parody.....and it is definitively not a serious story.

Love this idea!

My story reflects my experiences as a neurodivergent individual with learning difficulties. The MC is a god-like entity who is also neurodivergent. His conditions and challenges do NOT double as super-powers that everyone understands and is sympathetic toward, and it is NOT about him having an easy time just because he's a supernaturally powerful individual who happens to be ND.
