I make them cozy. Make them nostalgic. Relatable. My books are very much known for the characters making food and eating it together. Instead of being monotonous, the nostalgia and relatability and the evoking of family warmth and love in these scenes makes them my readers' favorites. They always get happy when they discover a new scene like this. They often remark about their own experiences with certain dishes. I once wrote a story that had a lot of Puerto Rican characters, and I'd get a lot of comments about readers' nostalgia for such dishes in their childhoods whenever a new Puerto Rican dish was mentioned. I learned so much from them. It was fun for everyone. My new book, French Cup, is a celebration of such scenes since it's about a restaurant. It's far from being monotonous, since these scenes are used to promote developing romance between two characters.
