I think its important to have a central hub as well. I had to make one in school as well but I no longer have it, I now have a website dedicated to my group under a unified brand instead because most of the work gets poured into that, its still a work in progress though www.insurgentpress.com
However one of the best formated and updated artist websites I've seen recently is by Stephen McCranie, author of Space Boy on Line webtoons. I would check out his site here if you want tips on formatting/clarity and what information to include.

Now I've heard from friends that its also super important to have a website easily accessible and readable from mobile nowadays as well but its pretty rare that I'm checking out artists websites on my phone myself, usually always on my desktop or laptop. Not sure about other people though.
