I felt like that a few time a go. I solved this problem doing some fast sketches. I forced me to draw a full scene in a few minutes, something about 10 or 15 minutes. I spent almost a year doing that. At the beginning everything looked bad and trashy, but after 2 or 3 months I was doing everything much easier.

Yeah, that is exactly how I feel. Sometimes I even like the sketch but when I start the lineart or the coloring everything goes down. It is very sad.

That is what I think too, and most of time people look happy with what I do. The problem is only me, but as most people said, it looks like this feeling is a good thing at all. I just have to learn how to make it motivates me.

I think your next goal is to love your work just because you do it. And after that see the problems with it to correct them, and still be able to love it.

Confidence comes with practice. A year ago of you asked me about my work I don't think I would be feeling great about my work but doing a webcomic has forced me to learn and practice new things and that in itself helps keep me going. Keep at it!

who cares if what you create may not be that great? Just learn from mistakes, do your best, and enjoy what you do. Maybe clear your head by going out of a hike or something, get some fresh air, take a sketch pad and doodle some of the stuff you see on the hike.

Yes, I`m really trying to star a personal project related to drawing, but this feeling always stop me at the beginning.

I can understand that. It's hard when your brain is telling you no. But here's the thing. Your brain isn't always logical. It likes the status quo because that's what it has learnt to deal with.

As well as that, it is a possibility that this idea won't be "THE" Idea. Lord knows I've had plenty of those. But that's OK. Because you're one idea closer to finding and building that spark that you can carry through. Webcomics challenge you in a new way that is scary at first because the Internet is a scary place to expose yourself to.

But you have a supportive space here on the this forum where you can get help to improve your work. There are smaller platforms you can host on that are more suited to new/experimental projects if you want to give yourself room to grow.

Take your time and let us know when you start because I would love to see it.

I think I've learned to accept most of what I do to be adequate, because there will be another day where I can do better. So I'm not wallowing in a pit of despair, thinking everything I do is shit. Instead I produce something crappy and I'll go, "You know what? That's the best I can do today and that's enough. It's better than any layman can do. So it's fine." And then when you get those times when you do produce something you really like, it feels even better.

i think the question sort of differ with what is presented in the op, do you like what you do X do you feel like you're not satisfied with your work. there's a difference between those two but to answer the title, i don't need to like what i do, i just need to know i want to do it and that is enough for me. to answer the original post, sometimes feeling not satisfied with your work leave more room to improve and critic your own mistake in your creation so if anything i'll let that feeling be one of the judge of what i created.
