Do you physically wreck your characters?

Since I chronicle true stories, and because people get physically and/or emotionally wounded in the real world, and because people get killed in the real world, the fact that, with very few exceptions, I like everybody I write about doesn't protect them.

Most of my main characters get scratched, or bruised, or beaten, but manage to get back up no matter what and turn the tables on their opponents. I've yet to go deep with the emotional obstacles, but I may get to that as a change of pace.

I'm also a big fan of honouring old injuries, as my comic takes places over around 6 weeks ish in their world, so old injuries stay in some cases.

My main chara thinks of herself as a super awesome fighter... So yes, I do like to show her she isn't invincible. Also even though it's anoying to draw, I like to keep the scars. But so far I'm only punishing my main chara...
