Because stereotypes perpetuate hate and lies that have been spread about people and cultures en masse. Yes, some people fall within stereotypes, but not all people do. Utilizing stereotypes without care and turning cultures/diasporas/communties you are not a part of into cliches is nothing short of dehumanizing.
I'm a caribbean girl, and black, for clarity, and we have so many cliches perpetuated about us by people who don't do enough research on what we are actually like and/or get to know us personally. It is not ok just because some people fall within these cliches. It's just hurtful. And calling people 'butthurt' just shows callousness.
There are so many people who only want to demean or demonize other cultures and when people want to stand against that you want to laugh at it? People are not changing their minds about what equates to bullying, some people have just matured enough to realize cruelty can be perpetuated with words, not just with violence.
And yes, I am hot about this so you can forebear from mentioning that it's because I'm a twenty year old liberal. We are aware. I'm also an activist/advocate and don't take kindly to people actively fighting against love and respect of ANY diaspora. But when it's my own diaspora imma have even more to say.
All I can say is you need a major time out
