Trying some more found these real fun

Evlyn Moriarty (the mom)
She didn't stand up to the dad during his clash with Evan in beginning. She is more understanding of her son (Evan) and could have avoided their argument escalating, instead of going to kitchen to hide her tears. Without her strong stance it only encourages the dad to believe 'only his word matters'.
In her defense -CLICH HERE
as a nurse she's stressed from back-to back long shifts, her 5 year old son went on his own to a birthday party, Evan forgot to pick him up (reason the dad got pissed), Owen fainted an hour ago and the dad reveals to the mom that Evan is a rent boy (implied), the dad now suggesting Evan should move out & not to mention her own memory flashes of past struggles: once being homeless, finally having a stable home she once dreamed of - so lots on her mind. And while it appears only people who developed superpowers heard the eerie Hum on April 5th, she also mentions hearing it on voicemail so there's definitely more on her on her mind than average folks.

'Raffa' Rafael Vargas-
Can come across harsh and too authoritative on wanting Xun to cooperate with him, thinks more about efficiency and less with heart (both orphans, former brothers in arms and maintain a brotherly bond). For starters he believes Evan is out to loaf on Xun (he thinks Xun is too gullible). While the encounters between Evan and Raffa are hilarious back and forth, the reality is that he made it his own mission to scare away Evan in his wolf form (behind Xun's back, with 0 regard to Xun's feelings).
Instead of working with Xun (and the main team), he chooses to work solo, criticizing Xun for dragging amateurs into battle and jeopardizing their lives. He also thinks they will slow him down and often tells Xun 'to only come around when he can see things his way'.
While some of his views are understandable (not wanting Ev to break Xun's heart or Xun having the death of innocents on his hand), he also puts very little faith on others' strengths or personal choices. Too much Logic clouds his heart.

Xun
He can be a little more direct and serious with Evan (going by Raffa here a bit). Xun 35, is much older than Evan, and lingers on the thought that the unstable young man would one day settle down with him, but in doing so, has Evan eating out of his hands, putting himself at a disadvantage. When he doesn't have a plan he could be honest (due to his own fear of not wanting people to lose hope he initially brought them), but when the main team looks to him as leader and they realize too late, it's only going to make him look worse. Too much heart clouds his logic.
Bonus: The DAD
Doland Moriarty (the dad)
(he's more of a side character but since I brought up Evlyn)

Dislike that Doland allowed his relationship with Evan (nephew, step-son) to be soiled with his disdain for his own brother, Mitch. Similar to Raffa too much logic clouds his heart.
Not revealed until a few episodes in but Evlyn was previously in a relationship with Doland's brother Mitch, until Mitch went to jail for a slew of crimes (Evan would have been 5 at time). Doland genuinely cared for Evlyn, married her, took Evan as his son and both of them worked hard to build their dream life (post Mitch), then gave birth to Owen (12) and Neon (5).
Doland is also the principal of the town's high school and his office echoes more of his backstory regarding the argument with Evan.
Evan's unstable nature may have also fueled Doland to remember his own brother. Also Evan calls him Doland never dad or uncle, making the man feel disrespected XD
