This is old but I really wanted to pitch in. It all depends.
If the writing is short, simple and not that difficult to conjure up or that amazing of a read but the art is actually pretty good then 50/50 isn't really fair.
And vice versa, if the story is amazing but the art is subpar then that should be figured out.
I've been in both situations. I'm a writer, and I wouldn't call my stories simple. Fantasy, Mystery and Lore is hard to weave into a book correctly, it's taken me years to write my book and a lot of headaches. It is clear I put my time and effort into it, my book is the first in a 3 part series and I am in charge of setting up campaigns, promoting, publishing, selling and actually making a profit. For me 50/50 is fair.
Art takes a long time to do especially when you have a lot of it due, but as a team that puts in at least equal amounts of hard work and chunks of their time then 50/50 is acceptable. When I look for an artist that I think matches up with what I want to see its easy because everything is detailed and drawn out for him to copy and create. It goes hand in hand.
Its easy to draw but hard to make a compelling story.
It's easy to write but hard to make appealing art.
Everyone fits into their own lane, that's why we partner up.
And for those that can do both no problem, then why are you here?š¤£
Anyway thanks for listening!! I hope I didn't offend anyone š„ŗ
Tell me, do you agree?
