Does anyone else make music for their own story/someone else's story?

Before I fell back into writing stories, I spent a while playing around with music and producing small tunes. Once I found an idea for my story, I would occasionally go back to that music program and toy around until I made "background music" or "character themes" that helped me through the creative process. I eventually added those to my story once I got it off the ground.

Is there anyone else who does this, or anything even remotely similar?

Also! Are there other music producers who double as comic writers/artists or novelists here?

Wow - this is gorgeous! You have a soft and sweet style. Very visual novel-esque. (You might want to look at the music for the Key visual novels. I think you will find lots of inspiration there!)

I wanted to try and capture that late 90s/00s feel with the soundtrack I've got so far.

I was a musician making my own angsty music before I came to Tapas and umm.. writing's a hobby that I picked up and gradually turned into a passion project. I've written music for my own future comic and even a few tracks for others' comics as well but there's not a lot I stayed proud of lol I recently decided to take music as a career (for real this time) and I'm just sorta experimenting with mixes and sounds I wanna use.

Here's what I'm still proud of from nearly 2 years ago vs. what I just finished today. I think you'll find the difference between both songs quite jarring tbh

Yes, I have wrote a few that have been inspired by my story, "The Dagger of Darkness." This theme was intended for Bjorn's character whilst out at sea.

I get that. It was the opposite for me.

I used to write prose (then poetry for a while) while attempting to make music on the side.

It wasn't until I made this track that I finally felt confident in making songs:

Oh! And for those who noticed what inspired my track, I was directly inspired by the soundtracks I'd hear in romance visual novels, 90s/00s soundtracks, and just the whole aesthetic of that era! ^^
