I have one! It makes a shade under $40 per month.

As for what people find valuable, though... I honestly don't know. The two folks on the Super Tier are there because they love my comic - they could get exactly the same perks through the Read Ahead tier, and they've never taken my up on any of the things that the Super Tier mentions they can ask me for.

And the three folks on the $1 tier are silent 'lil munchkins, who I'm pretty sure just think of it as a tip jar for a comic they like. (Which is exactly what that tier is, I guess.) I pop up sketches and the odd completed panel from future episodes for them.

I get the impression that none of my Patrons particularly care what I actually put up on the page, they just want to help support me in making my comic.

I really want mine to make more money, but we'll see if that ever happens in the near future. For novels, advance chapters seem to be the only reward that isn't a mega timesink. But you gotta get the kinds of stories people want to read in advance for!

I started mine some years ago. At first I had 2 or 3 patrons, but it wasn't until I started publishing my webcomic "Arcagen" last year that I increased that number to 9-10. In my case, I believe they saw a good project, with a consistent release schedule (2-3 pages every two weeks). In my Patreon, I have 4 different tiers, with rewards ranging from "your name in the credits", behind the scenes material, source files, and even private critiques/revisions to your work. I try to be consistent with the schedule of my rewards, giving away behind the scenes material, previews, and source files every month. There have been months were the production has halted due to life circumstances, and in those cases, I interrupt the automatic payment in order to preserve honor.

I have one that just launched around June this year, I specifically created it because there will be NSFW scenes in the story in the future.
My readers who are patrons are almost all on the current highest tier: Emerald Tier.

For what the readers value, aside from the fact that they love my comic, it's most likely because they can read the first half of the chapter in that tier, 10 days before release (it's partially because my updates are slow (hahaha I only update once a month XD) but my episodes are long).and the bonus of having the perks that they can also have access to NSFW illustration/wallpaper per month.
They also love my artwork so they like collecting the exclusive illustrations.

So far I observed they really want that exclusive access to NSFW pieces/episodes that are only available on my Patreon, and the perks of early access.

I do but I don't know really how to set up tiers to sound good. I played around with it and my daughter and someone I know joined to help me test it out. Still don't know what I'm doing, so I don't really push it. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I have another novel in the works, so whatever I do with Butterfly and Crane will help me learn for that one.

Most of my patrons have subbed for early reading. I also throw in exclusive illustrations and PSD files in the same tier, but I get the most engagement for the early chapter updates.

Other creators I've talked to said that their NSFW tiers tend to be most popular

My Patreon is a glorified tip jar with added perks of early access and behind the scenes content. I don't make any content exclusively for the platform (at the moment).

I think most people are interested in seeing chapters early, but my non-artist supporters say they love the behind the scenes look into my work.

I have a Patreon, however, I'm still struggling to find out how to even get people to find my page. Si it's difficult to say what people enjoy the most. I tried posting sketches, and behind the scenes type of stuff though, and the few patrons have seemed to enjoy that. Hope this helps!!
