I took at look at your story and seems you're off to a good start! It's ambitious to write a novel vs a webcomic because it's much harder to get the pacing right.
I think with some tweaking of your pacing, rewording some sentences, and fixing grammatical errors and run-on sentences your story has potential!
I recommend reading and emulating the writing style of your favorite novels. It seems like you might benefit from reading from the bildungsroman genre.

Your story sounds EPIC!

I have a new adult fantasy comic that I just started posting in November. The story follows a plus-size shut-in mage named Junah leaving home for the first time to attend the Institute of Mystical, Magical & Mythical Arts where she meets her new partner Kaelen, a wizard of sorts who likes personal space, and the rest of the crew at IMMMA who are all trying to get a grip on what it means to have a mage gift.
