I guess that happens to an extent. Like a character that wins someone over with their support and care, that's kind of going to be someone I would potentially fall for.

Levi/Levente, a character I yearn so heavily for to write again, which is pretty much impossible at this point, due to the heaviest spoilers for what I‘m currently doing. But one day, for sure, I will be able to show why I love this character so damn much. Not only for his personality, but I'll especially enjoy to write the things happening to & around him, since he even has the fortunate honor to being assigned with an oh so dreaded protagonist status xP
He‘s my number 1 favorite OC, my sad little big mew mew with a heart of gold like a golden retriever, that sadly got sat out in the rain for too long qwq

Honestly, I‘m even considering to one day release an AU I‘ve been writing/drawing on and off since last year about him and another character from my top 5 favorites bc I both miss writing them so much and I could even explore more aspects of their relationship in that scenario qwq
On the other hand, introducing the characters in the original story first and giving the readers a chance to find references/parallels to connect certain dots would also be something I‘d rather wait out for before truly committing to that side project ^^“

I admit Shannon ("Damsel in the Red Dress") was very intentionally written to be the kind of character you'd have a crush on. Even rereading the story or thinking back on his character I'm forced to be like 'dangit, he was so attractive.' I mean, charismatic, fun sense of humor, hot hot hot, smooth talker. This guy was 'Smooth Operator' every step of the first book, it's really painful.

I think Riley very much so looks like the sort of boy I would have had a crush on when I was a little kid. Longish fluffy brown hair, painted nails and eyeliner. I've been into pop punk and rock my whole life, so the makeup and jewelry has been embedded into my ideal for a long time XD

I'd say "yes" but not all in one character. For example, I might like one character's physical appearance, but not their personality (or vice versa). I find that if I write a crush-able character into my stories, they tend to get a little too much attention and it derails my train of plot.

XD, that's why you make them the leads, so they are the plot lol. I currently find the lead in the new romance i'm working on I find much less crushable than the ones in "Damsel in the Red Dress." I like his character a lot, but he's not as much my type (It's not cuz he's short lol)

I have to finish fleshing him out until i'd totally fall in love because IMAO, my romance is not good enough unless I could see falling in love with the leads

But legit, I want every lead in my romances to be someone people would consider attractive and could easily fall in love with. I make them all look all different ways but I hope I'm fleshing out their personalities and making them dynamic enough to be the perfect fictional heart breakers to ruin people for real relationships XD
