(Is the OP finished...? With that last sentence being cut off, I can't really tell...)
Anyway, for me it's mostly the opposite: I actually like something, only to find hordes of fans screaming at me (not directly, of course) that it's garbage.
For instance, Gen:LOCK: I thought it was a strong and compelling series from start to finish, but very few people seem to agree. Rooster Teeth fans hate it for taking away time and resources from RWBY, and of course people who hate RT hate it for being 'more garbage from RT'. On top of that, it seems the creators are having trouble marketing it...I feel so alone...
To give another example, Star Wars (specifically, the new trilogy). ^^ I watch Star Wars as a whole mostly for the entertainment value; in my book it's really too campy to take seriously (not that that's a bad thing). And I have an undying love for 'pretty' movies, and Eps 6-9 are VERY pretty. So it's really hard for me to dislike them, let alone hate them, despite the millions of reasons people give to convince me that I should. =/
But I don't think of these sorts of dilemmas as fans vs. truth. In the end, these are just differences of opinion. Differences that may or may not destroy the fandoms and series I love, but differences nonetheless. ;_; What can you do?
