The impossible battle against overwhelming odds all for the sake of no one important.
ex- Seven Samurai3
Personally I like the hurt comfort type trope. Mainly because it’s honestly satisfying to me to watch. As well as goofy villains. Who needs their villains to be all serious?! It’s honestly more relatable to me to have a silly villain. They could just be a loser trying to do their best and genius but doesn’t think through their plans. (I’m looking at you Dr. Doofenshmirtz! With your freaking self destruct buttons.) I don’t watch a lot of media to be honest, but I have learned certain tropes. If I think of more I’ll be happy to list them!
Just that one guy who's so ignorant and prideful that he thinks he's so great when in actuality he's pretty dumb.
(Idk, I just have a thing for that for some unknown reason) kinda funny to see them though.
A villain who does more good than they do bad without realizing, cause those villains are nice to watch .... Hmm, I'm seeing a trend here.... Shoot.
I couldn’t agree more! My villain in Cracking Eggs is a bit of a unique case. They delight in watching other’s pain but has a tone that gives off goofy villain vibes. He has a twisted sense of humor but he’s just so friendly about it.
My favorite villains are the ones that entertain me the most such as Hades from Disney’s Hercules. Just one example.
Yes! DO IT!!! I love Kim Possible! If I had Disney Plus I would be watching it right now lmaooo
I don't have it drawn, yet as I'm still trying to understand the comic writing format (I'm a novelist so this is new territory), but I'm planning on uploading it either by the end of this month or next month.
If you want I could like message you it or something similar when I do publish it.
It'll be on Tapas, but may also be on Comic Fury or Webtoons
I don't know what the "official" trope is called but I love stories where the entire cast of characters operates as a "hive mind"/"brain trust". Best examples: New Girl, Bones, Brooklyn 99, Parks and Recreation, Warehouse 13. Basically, any group of characters that has passed "normal" social conventions and become the endearingly awkward "found family". I love it. I can't get enough.
This also extends to the "friends to lovers" pairing that usually pops up in this dynamic. I love it when FMC is talking about being a mother or some other life dream and the MMC is like "yeah, I will obviously be there to love and embarass your child".
*My preference does NOT, I repeat NOT include problematic shows like: Friends, HIMYM/HIMYF
I have Instagram too! And yes it seems this is probably the best place for to put my comics on the internet. I find like minded people and it’s not drowned out by trends and reels and stuff. I like that there’s something for everyone on here and so much diversity and genres. I’m also on Webtoon but I was hesitant about it. I did it anyway. I have no way to build an audience whereas here, I can actually talk to other creators.
I get it. I sorta have a character like that in my story The Legend of Hanako which isn’t out yet. The character in particular is named Goro and he is the comic relief/goofball of the group. Despite this, he actually has extensive knowledge with medicine and herbs and healing techniques. So in his own way he is a bad*** considering the story takes place in the 1570s Japan in which back then there was no proper hospitals or medics and stuff.
I wanted to say Enemies to lovers but as great as it is it is.. easy to be unintentionally written in a way that isn’t exactly my taste so I don’t think it’s the best. Probably either urban fantasy (are settings tropes?) or “character has been forced to fight a character they’re close to somehow and it’s unclear if at least one of them survives”, although I don’t know if there’s a name for that one yet
Any revenge stories
Grimdark stuff that doesn't look like it was written by egdy emo teenager
Lone wolf type of warriors who fight for no one but themselves
"Both sides are evil"
Old man adopts a randomly found kid
The character has good intentions but everything turns out into a diseaster
Absolutely badass women who don't give a damn (like in Claymore, Kill bill, that part of Jojo with Stone Ocean, Aliens)
"Too angry to die" (like in Doom or Berserk)
Space knights (some fancy laser/plasma swords, axes etc.)
God Machine, cult of the machine etc., just cults in sci-fi
God Emperors
Guilty pleasures:
Long, very long gunfights
Giant swords and armours
Fights with many jumps, flips, kicks and other ridiculous things
