Hey, if it's not too late, I'd love to give feedback on your comic! I'm hoping someone will do so for me sometime too. http://tapastic.com/series/seraphimcomics
First of all, I love your character and creature design! Wandering ambiguous humanoid with traces of humanity? Awesome. The creatures that follow him are unique too, maybe a little to on-the-nose (there might even be a literal flying nose out there), but very original. The mouth is a good homage to The Maxx, too. I love em.
Well paced. Just enough action and intrigue in the world/characters to get me hooked. I want to see how this chase ends. Who were those vagrants? Why is the world like this? How will biblical verse factor in? Very cool teases.
My biggest criticism is with the anatomy/motion of the characters. The protagonist in mid-walk/run seems very awkward, and not very accurate real running. Its right arm moves forward at the same time as the right leg, and so-on with the left. Should be right leg and left arm forward, the others back. Does that make sense? It's good enough that it reads as to what the action is, but the motion and movement is not correct and threw me off.
I really like the anatomical choices you've made, specifically the protagonist's gender neutrality. That's how it reads to me anyway. I think proportionally it could be a bit tighter, as its head (and the heads of the humans as well) seem a bit big. Almost like children. I'm not sure that's what you're going for.
I'm not one to talk about colour because I haven't found the courage to use it yet. But I will give you a note nevertheless! The colouring is good, but needs to go one or two steps forward: you have found consistent colouring for all of the characters/locations, but now you need to consider area lighting and how it affects those colours. Where is the light coming from? Certainly not the left or right as they are surrounded by buildings. What colour is the light? Is it diffused by clouds or direct sun? Also what colour does the sky cast? These questions answered can/will develop a better atmosphere and tonal quality to the images. A grey day conjures way different feelings than a cloudless sunrise. Things to consider.
But there's definitely enough cool stuff going on that made me subscribe to your comic. Great opener! I look forward to more.
I hope this is helpful to you, friend. If anyone wants to do the same to my work, please feel free! I'm here to get better, it's all new to me.
